Is Lisa military? I ask b/c she could still face court marshall, could she not?

I'm pretty sure that I heard that all 3 would come up on military charges. I'm not positive but I think you are a member of the military to be in NASA.

Okay--something bugs me!

Did she not go through the metal detectors or advanced search (since the GPS probably would set off the detector) and did they not have their bags checked?

Anyone familiar with OIA can see they are going through the exit under escort. But the irony--TSA is under scrutiny b/c their employees bypass screening at OIA and elsewhere.

Yet someone out on bond for the charges of attempted murder/kidnapping bypasses and walks straight to the train?

Now they could have marched right back--but find it so funny that no local news media noticed this since the TSA is now under scrutiny.

Yes, they are military. Nowak is a Captain in the Navy (O-6). Oefelein is an O-6 too, also in the Navy, I think? I believe Shipman is a Captain in the Air Force (O-3).

translation: they are having an affair... there is no doubt in my mind. I was so surprised that Greg Behrendt (author of He's Just Not That Into You) told Nancy Grace, when asked, that yes, he thought this could be a fantasy on Lisa's part and perhaps there was no affair. No no no, this is one time Greg is dead wrong. C'mon, Lisa had access to Oefelein's email! They were an item. I'd stake my case of Depends on it.

ps. I think Oefelein is probably very handsome in person. I think that is just a goofy picture of him.

Excellent points. I actually laughed when I first read the "more-than-working-but-less-than-romantic" quote - talk about doublespeak!!! A classic waffle that is right up there with Clinton's "I tried it but didn't inhale."

Interestingly, the tangent of this case that isn't getting a lot of airtime here (or in the media) is the potential PR impact of all this on NASA. Maybe it's just me, but as the the investigation evolves I suspect the whole issue of "astronaut management" (....or lack thereof) will start becoming a much bigger part of the story.

There are also many civilian employees of NASA. They interviewed Homer Hickham this week as part of the diaper-naut controversy. IIRC--he's the guy portrayed in October Sky.....and he is very much part of NASA without the military background.

All people working fo NASA are sub contractors. NASA only has 1 employee, the CEO, everybody else is contracted!
I learned this when I went to NASA this past summer. They mention this over & over & over.

Well, looks like the spotlight has been taken off of Lisa due to the Anna Nicole tragedy. Very sad for that baby.

Still, I can't help but wonder how Lisa is going to handle the fact that now, every available woman in the USA knows about Mr Astrostud. You know how a seemingly run of the mill good looking guy becomes the most desirable man in America overnight as soon as he's in the news? She sure has her work cut out for her.
