I read it was under refurbishment. But it is completly gone. No center no rockets no nothing. They have re-done the ring on the outside and added planets. Which are huge and I would think impair your view.

So I am wondering if they are just secretly doing away with the ride all together.

really!!
i can't think they will be taking it out
it's one of the only rides my dad hates and i remember the 1st time i went on my cap flew off when we went past jupiter

I'm shocked too. I can do all of the rollercoasters (love RRC) but I hate this one too. I feel like I am going to fly off of the ride but that doesn't mean I want it gone!! I hope it comes back. :guilty:

it is in rehab... I read that sometime shortly before xmas, a bearing gave out and the ride went into rehab a 1 month ahead of schedule. If this is the case then the ride may need to have been dismantled to get access to the bearings.

I just got back sunday from a 10 day trip. The planets have been there for several years now. They are not new & do not impair your view as a previous poster thought. Anyway right now there is scaffolding all around the ride and they are doing rehab on it. I think the disney website said it is scheduled to reopen in march.

Maybe they're just getting new rockets...
From your mouth to Mickey's ears! Those rockets were very difficult to get in and out of!

I like riding it at night when the whole park is lit up, as well as the resorts.... absolutely beautiful view!
