I'm still debating beween car rental or busing it. Can anyone tell me what restraunts & stores are within walking distance (outside the park) of All Star Sports? I've got a hungry 13 year old son who will cost me a fortune in-park.

Thanks for your input.

I seem to remember the only thing within walking distance from any of the All-Stars resorts is a McDonald's. From Sports, I'd say it's probably a 5-10 minute walk, depending on which building you're staying in. Since this McD's is on Disney property, I'm sure that the prices are more expensive that they would be at your regular neighborhood McD's.

I stayed at Music a few years ago, and I liked their food court. I understand that that the food courts at Sports and Movies are similar, but the prices are typical Disney-inflated.

Im not sure, but I dont think anything in within walking distance frim ASSp.
They do have a food court in the resort and a shop I think.
You can walk over to ASMu & ASmo. They have there own food courts and shops. I could be wrong though:D

Other than the MIckey Dee's, which by the way there are no sidewalks to get to from ASSp, the only other thing would be the food court. The prices at the food court will be the same as anyof the in-park counter service places, and McDonalds will be MUCH more expensive than the one at home. We went to the one near ASSp once and spent almost $7 PER value meal!!! A happy meal was over $4 I think. So, if you really want to save some food $$$, you'll have to leave Disney property, since everything on, whether owned by Disney or not, is overpriced.

Thank you for your responses.

I don't know why, but I had the impression that there were more places within walking distance. I'm back to leaning towards renting a car for the week. To me, food court means french fries. Do they have items that don't fall into the fast food categories?

They have a variety of foods in the food court; spaghetti with meat balls, taco salad, wraps, sandwiches, I think chinese food. It's not just burgers and fries. There is a link to the menu's on deb's site, but I don't have it handy. Maybe someone else can post it!

All the AS food courts have a refrigerated section too, with cold meat sandwiches (ham/cheese, turkey/cheese, etc) fresh fruit, juices, milk.
It's basically counter food service. But not terrible.
WoS is not too far away. But still where you have to drive to get there.
From our WDW stays, we have found AS to have the best bus service. We prefer AS bus to rental car.

Thank you, I just found the menus on wdwdig.com I'm impressed by the great selection. I still plan on doing a supermarket visit. I think we'll get the refillable mugs to save on lugging soda. Gotta have my morning coffee too!!

Rent the car and have you considered getting a fridge for the room as well? We do that and at the very least means breakfast is pretty cheap with store bought groceries and produce.

I think you can also get outside food delivery (pizza for example)? to the resort

There is nothing within walking distance of the All Stars other than the aforementioned Mc'Ds

Thanks
