ASSP/ASMU/AKL (What to do?)

I currently have ASSP booked for 1/1 and 1/2. This pretty much has to stay that way. ASMU, ASMO, AKL stand. are all sold out those dates! And I have rechecked every couple of days.

Here's the options:

1. Switch to ASMU for 1/3 and 1/4. Use towncar service from airport and back. Total cost is $340

2. Switch to AKL standard for 1/3 and 1/4. Use Mears from airport and back (there are only two of us). Total cost is $390

This is supposed to be a BUDGET trip which is why we chose the All Stars, but we really liked the AKL on our last trip. DS was not able to go on that trip (he CHOSE church camp instead). This trip is just him and I. If we do switch to AKL, we will have to use Mears to save on money. How much time are we going to lose there? We also have a 7:30 AM flight - will this be a problem with Mears?

Please let me know what you think - only 15 days to go!!

Take the AKL option. Why switch if you're just going to be moving to another All Star resort?

I would chose AKL over AS any day, even though I really like AS.

My opinion? For such a short trip, take All Star, and use the few dollars you save for some great souvenirs or an awesome meal. Take some time and visit AKL. That's what we did two weeks ago...we spent a great afternoon/evening at AKL wandering around absorbing the ambience and watching the animals being fed in the Savannah behind the pool. We had a great time! We were able to get seated at Boma without PS with a 10 minute wait (only because they weren't open yet!) and loved it!

Whichever you choose, you'll have a great time. After all, it's WDW, wherever you're staying!
