Just curious - could someone explain the Associate membership? We're going to join DVC, and my parents were wondering about joining too - is it possible that we all join on one larger contract, and all have membership...or ??? First time we've ever heard of it - sorry for the stupid question!!:Pinkbounc :bounce:
Thanks - Mary Beth

Mary Beth,

Welcome to the boards! I'm new but will try to help. I'm an associate. I can make reservations, bank & burnrow points & that's about it, I think??? Now I think you could all be on the deed & each pay a portion of the mortage mantance fees and dues. I'm not sure if 4 of you could be on 1 deed but I'm not sure why not either. Someone here can most likely have a better answer. Good luck!!

Allison

I think you did a good enough job of explaining it. I can't see why all 5 could not be on the contract. We actually considered this for our grown children when we joined.

You might want to rethink the contract size, perhaps getting two smaller contracts rather than one larger one. The smaller contracts are easier to sell than the larger ones, and if there is a problem you could always sell one contract, and keep the other. Also, contracts in the 150-250 size sell for more per point, so if you bought 300 pts buy two-150 pt contracts instead of one 300 pt contract. At least give it some thought;)

Question for those that have their kids on the memberships as associates: do they have to be 21 or older? And can they be added later on? Diana

No membership cards for Associate members.
