Hi,

Does anyone have any experience (hopefully recent) of getting one of these please.

I assume I have to go to City Hall on arrival but what info do I have to supply. My ds is autistic so does not have an obvious disabilty.

Just don't want to waste any time if the card is a huge hassle to get and it turns out not to be much use :confused3

Thanks as usual.

Michelle

Michelle you will need a recent letter from your GP. You will then fill out a questionaire with a CM at City Hall.
From what I have witnessed it does not look to onerous :)
There is a link in The Very Useful Info sticky :thumbsup2

The card is very much worth getting as it has many benefits, as you will be able to read about when I post my trippie shortly. We took all my Grandsons medical notes, but all they really wanted to see was his blue disabled badge. Unfortunately we had not taken this, but his notes were more than sufficient.

The card gets you front of line access to a few rides and also a very priveledged position for the parades etc. Hope you all have a great time, we certainly did, and if you have any further questions please feel free to ask.

As Cyrano says, you will need a letter from a Doctor, unless you have a blue disabled badge.

We have obtained one of these on both our recent trips, there were very few questions asked that I recall, they simply point out to you that it's not a priority access. We were able to move to the front of the queue with ALL the rides we wanted to go on, it varies as to where you enter the ride, often via the exit. You approach the CM at the beginning of the ride and they point you in the right direction.

Sometimes we were asked to wait, but we were generally advised as to how long the wait would be, and I was offered a seat to sit on (I don't mind waiting so long as I can sit down). Same with the shows, there is somewhere to sit while you wait to get in, then there are often specially reserved areas to sit in. With the Lion King show we were simply sent straight in, ahead of everyone else, so it does vary. There are also special areas you can sit and watch the parade too.

Hope this helps - have a great trip!

Do you happen to know how recent a doctor's letter you need? We have one from February and we're going again in May, just wondering if I need to get another letter with a more recent date.

I read that it should be within the last 3 months, but I've not put that to the test, as I made sure mine was within that time frame anyway.

Thankyou. Might be safer to get another one, think it might be about 3 1/2 months old.

The teacher I work with has an autisic son and uses this everytime they go to DLRP - I will ask her tomorrow how easy it is to get the ticket, what you have to do etc .... and will let you know tomorrow evening.

Thanks all for your replies. I must start digging out my sons medical info as we do not have a blue badge.

Also, thanks Cazgal that would be very helpful to hear your info.

Michelle
