I'm debating on whether I should purchase an Annual Pass. We are planning to be in DLR August 8-13 and have booked the Summer rate at PPH. I'd like to know whether there is a better discount with the Annual Rate.

We are staying in PPH Concierge Standard view and are paying $355.00 (taxes and fees included). When I booked on Sunday I was told there were no standard views available ( which doesn't seem correct now because online you can get a standard room).

Could someone please check the Annual Pass rate for a standard view for both the GCH and PPH for 5 nights starting August 8 and post those rates for me.

Thanks very much in advance!

Barbara

I just checked the PPH hotel and the AP rate is the same as the summer rate. The standard view is $305.37 including taxes. The total would be $2170.35.

The Grand is $487.73 per night. The total including taxes is $3356.73

Rates aside, I would say buy an AP, if you are planning to return within a year. So even if you were to buy on for August 8th you would have until next August 8th to return (just in time for Carsland!)

We live in Edmonton, and we buy one. But we also go back 2 or 3 times per year. If you aren't planning on returning it would be a waste of money IMO.

I checked w/ my Premium AP membership and for the Concierge Standard at the PPH.

Arriving on 8/8/2011 for 5 nights; 2 Adults and 2 Children (ages 3, 5): total cost $1795.95

The rates varied by day, but since you quoted your nightly stay already including taxes etc, I gave you the full bill total instead. hth!

I got $3031.47 for concierge at the PPH with my AP rates, for those dates. :confused3

Checked w/ Grand Californian, AP rate:

Arriving on 8/8/2011 for 5 nights; 2 Adults and 2 Children (ages 3, 5)
Standard View Room (USD): $2,115.36
Concierge Standard View (USD): $3,589.56

All rates are with taxes, etc - quoted my final at checkout price. :)

By calling I saved $80 (USD) by being an AP holder than I would have got if I just booked on line. This was for 3 days at PPH, Concierge park view for Aug 10-11-12.

You saved $80 from what total cost for the 3 night stay?

I just checked again and I came up with your rates. Either I messed up or they are messing with the calendar!

The difference between what was available by booking on line, Summer savings, and what DL Travel gave me by being an AP holder. Still over $325 a night but it's an anniversary with a 0 on the end of it.

Before taxes and parking, the rate quoted, room only, PPH Con view is $979 on line for the 3 nights we are going to be there.

Okay, I was trying to avoid solving for X in travel algebra. ;)

I totally understand how you got the discount - we're talking bottom line numbers here so that's why I asked how much (in total) did you spend.

Ah, I hate their website! Maybe you were quoted a package w/ 6-day park hoppers too? Which is totally bizarre for an AP quote since hey! we have our tickets already! :lmao:

Thanks for all the help and your comments. It doesn't look like the rates are too much lower than the summer rate that would make it worth it for me to get an AP. We all had passes last year which expired in January and had 2 nice trips to DLR with them. But I'm not sure that we will be able to make a second trip if I were to purchase an AP for myself this time around. Unfortunately we won't be able to go to DLR next Summer due to a family wedding in europe ( but I'm looking at Disney Paris as a side trip!).

Too bad there aren't any Super Premium Passes that allow people to go to all the Disney resorts in the world.

Thanks again for all the checks!

Barbara
