Assigning spieling attractions

I'm in attractions at Disneyland for the fall CP! I was just wondering if anyone knew how spieling attractions are assigned (at either resort, I'm assuming it's similar). I'm in the minority, but Jungle Cruise is pretty much my worst nightmare! And I know JC and Storybookland are new hire attractions at DL that quite a few CPs have gotten. Now if that's what I end up with, I'll make the best of it, but is there any way to send a preference for a non-spieling attraction...or just wait and hope for the best? I would have mentioned it in my interview but didn't want to hurt my chances of getting attractions (and didn't really think of it). I've been debating emailing recruiting but don't want to sound negative. Thanks!

To be honest, it is more likely that you will not get a spieling attraction than one. There are just far more that have minimal spiels.

Placements are done at random and based on operating needs. If you are particularly articulate and communicate well during the interview as well as having background in public speaking might flag you has more appropriate for one of those attractions.

Thanks, that's what I was thinking/hoping!

I did talk a lot about public speaking in my interview because that's basically what my old job was, but was never asked about memorization or anything. And never mentioned wanting a spiel attraction (obviously haha). It's not that I'm scared of public speaking, it's just really not what I think would be the best fit for me!

My daughter is in the college program (Spring '13 Summer Extension) and works at Kilimanjaro Safaris. She has to give her spiel while driving her safari vehicle. She loves it. She has absolutely no experience in public speaking and had no problems while she was training.
