I'll be going with my mom and 2 of her friends to WDW in April as their "tour guide." All are in their 70's but in very good health. We have requested ground floor rooms, but would appreciate any advice on the rooms that are closest to the bus stop, food court, and the quietest! Any help would be great! Thank you and I love these boards!!

I'd request Jazz, or book preferred rooms to be guarenteed Calypso (the closest buildings to the Food Court, Gift Shop, Front Desk, and the Bus Stop).

I stayed in Broadway building #7, on the corner closest to the parking lot on the second floor (#7555). It was quite a hike to the Melody Hall, but I wouldn't say it was a horrible walk. I actually really liked the All-Star Music, and if I didn't love the Grand Floridian so much I'd probably stay there everytime. Yes, it is a very different atmosphere than the GF, but it's still "Disney".

:) Have fun!

We stayed in the Calypso building, which is now considered the 'preferred' building. We absolutely loved it, as it was just steps away from the Food Court and bus stop. And each step counts when you're rushing in the morning and dragging in late at night! :)

And while the pool IS very close by, either there was not much noise when we were trying to sleep OR we were just too tired to hear it!

Be sure to tell them what you're looking for when you make your ressies. I'm sure they'll be very helpful.

Have a wonderful time!

We took my in-laws(there in their late 70's) and stayed at the Calypso on the ground floor on the side facing the parking lot between ASMu and Sports. We had a rental car and needed a wheelchair and this location worked out great for getting to the car. If your guests need handicap room or you want adjoinging rooms make sure to tell them when you book, don't wait to get down there. Last year we had friends with us who wanted a close room because the wife had just finished radiation treatments and tired easily and they didn't request when they booked and they ended up back in the country unit with us on the second floor. It was hard for her we were not on the parking lot side and she had to wait for the elevator everytime. We didn't mind it was nice and quite back there.:)
