ASMusic suite vs 2 standard rooms and why is AoA so much more $

Currently, I have a reservation for a Familt suite in Jan for 3 adults and an 11 yr old. RE: we (adults) can each have our own bed. Since we'd have a real refrig, I was planning on a grocery order BUT only for a few breakfast items: milk, bananas, yogurt, orange juice, cheese sticks, maybe micro egg cups. BUT, I am obsessed with NOT giving WDW "extra" $ .

I'm debating changing my reservation again. I want to price out a standard room x 2 instaed. I realize I could be stuck way out in the boondocks.
Does anyone have inside info on why AofA is so much more expensive. We're going in Jan, so I doubt we'll swim and personally the skyliner was a one and done for me. I do not like riding in the sky, knowing I could get stuck up there!


Any opinions, please.

My personal opinion is that AoA is more expensive due to the Skyliner, and possibly also the interior hallways and Nemo pool. The standard rooms at AoA have historically been more expensive than Pop and All Stars even before the Skyliner was installed, so I have to believe that the more in depth themeing and the fancier pools play a part. Personally, I prefer the All Stars Music Suite over the AoA suite due to the full size fridge in the kitchenette. Both resorts only have three beds in the suite though, so if you need four beds to sleep separately then you would need to book two standard rooms and give up the kitchenette.

Grandson will share bed with my daughter, then myself and my sister for the 3 beds. IF we were staying for 7 or 8 nights, the refrigerator would be hands down the reason to keep the room. But we will only have 4 mornings, not including our early departure day and because of that I know we could survive with just the beverage coolers. The preferred location is nice but is it a few hundred $$ nice, idk.

I'd stick with the family suite at Music because you have the kitchen area plus the 2 bathrooms.

AOA is more expensive due to the theme, skyliner, and pool.

If you don't even like the thought of staying at a skyliner resort then idk why it matters because you're not staying there.

I’ve been in all of those configurations (2 standards and suites at both), having the full size fridge, kitchen area and 2 bathrooms at ASMU is a game changer!

I'd stick with the family suite at Music because you have the kitchen area plus the 2 bathrooms.

AoA suites also have two bathrooms. But they have a small kitchenette with just an under the counter fridge (st least it’s not a beverage cooler). There is no separate freezer, just an open compartment in the small fridge that didn’t keep anything frozen for me.

OP, really the only things you have to lose going from a suite to two standard rooms is the full fridge and the guarantee that you are all on the same room. If you book two standard rooms, you lose the kitchen, but also Disney will not guarantee that your two rooms are connecting, next to each other, or even in the same building. They will try, but with three adults and one older child, you could be split up. The suite at least guarantees you are all together.

We prefer the setup of the Music suite if available over the AOA suites. The kitchen setup is much better imho in the Music Suites and they have the 2 murphy beds vs 1 murphy and a less comfortable sofa bed at AOA.

As a pp mentioned if you go with the 2 rooms they won't guarantee connecting.

If you end up at AOA or POP be aware that the only transportation to Epcot and DHS is the skyliner (buses only run if the skyliner is not operating).
