Hi Everyone...just a couple quick questions for you AS vets

Pool towels...do they have them or do we need to bring them?
I cannot believe that I cannot remember the answer to this question. Dah! We have been to the ASSports several times and I can't seem to remember if we needed to bring towels or not.

Best bldg. for two couples mid 60s, close to food court and one pool at least?
My parents are going for their first ever trip to the World. My Aunt and Uncle are also going. So do they have adjoining rooms there?

ASMusic number to call three days out for requests?
Must be nonsmoking for health reasons.

thanks!

I think your parents will enjoy All Star Music. It is my Favorite Disney resort.
There are no towels by the pool, but mousekeeping will gladly bring extra bath towels to the room for the pool if one requests them.
All stars does have some connecting room but they are only garenteed for famie's with young children who need 2 rooms. You can request them, but
it will be a request. You should give your requests when you make the reservations. Then it will be noted. All resort calls go trough a central
calling system so if you call the Star Music # they will answer All Star Music but it will not be the front desk and all they can do is note the requests so if they are already noted there is no reason to call 3 days ahead.

I am 55 years old and travel several times a year. I often stay at 4 star hotels.
So the deluxe resorts do not have anything special for me.
All Star is like being in the heart of the Magic and that is where I want to be.

All Star Music is my favorite. It is quieter because more couples stay there. I love staying at the Clypso building. It is closer to the pool, food court and bus stop.

Here is a site with a map of All Star Sports and All Star Music.
http://www.wdwinfo.com/resortmaps/allstarmap.htm
Scroll down. All Star Music is at the bottom of the page.
The Calypso buildings at All Star Music are #1 and #10 are nearest to the food court and bus stop.
They are the preferred buildings and cost about $12 extra per night.
The Calypso pool at ASMU has Donald Duck.

The All Star resorts are all within walking distance of each other and you are welcome to use any of the pools at any of the ALL Stars.
The buses are wonderful.

Bus rides are quite short from the ALL Stars according to PassPorter.com

All Star Buses-CBR buses---POPbuses--PO buses--- Contemporary
MK 20 min---- 20 min-----25 min------10 min---20 min(mono)
Epcot 10 min-- 15 min-----20min------10 min---15 min
MGM 10 min----12 min-----15 min------15 min---20min
AK 10 min------20min-------15 min----15 min---20 min
DTD 15 min----20 min------20 min-----15 min---35 min

It only takes 10 minutes to get to Epcot,MGM and AK from All Stars.
MK is 20 min away. That's the same amount of time it takes on the monorail from the Contemporary.

I love  the All Star Resorts. I have visited WDW more than a dozen times with the 1st time in Oct. 1971. It was brand new. :cloud9: I've stayed at FW, Disney Inn, a few the of Hotels on hotel Blvd., CBR and the towers at the Contemporary. I got to see the MK from my balcony at the Contemporary and I'm happy I got to experience it once. :flower: I just prefer the All Star Resorts.
The theaming is pure Disney. :earsboy: :earsgirl:
My last 4 visits have been at The All Stars and this fall when we take dd,dsil, and our grandson age 3 we are staying at the All Stars Music. I thought about AKL and even though we can well afford AKL I just wanted Alex to experience the Disney Magic :wizard: at the All Stars on his first visit.
Where else can one find Donald Duck or Mickey Mouse at the pool?
Have a great time at Disney!

Just bring towels from your room. As posted above, you can always call mousekeeping for extras.

Jazz is the closest without paying extra, but I prefer Broadway which is just beyond Jazz and close to the piano pool (quiet pool). I think the themeing is the best part!!!

(407) 939-6000

I, too, second the Calaypso Building. We stayed in the building closest to AS Sports. I'd request the other Calaypso Building near AS Movies (somewhat closer to the bus stops). Regardless, I'd ask for a room that doesn't face the wonderfuly themed, but noisy until late @ night, pool. Parking is also closer to the backs of the buildings.

Good luck on building preferences, WDW only guarantees Pref or Stand; we've tried for AS Mo Toy Story several times w/o any luck.

I stayed at the Allstar Music this past July. I was in the Jazz Building, facing away from the main courtyard and I loved the location. Jazz is the next building down from Calypso, and you must pay $10.00 extra per night to stay in Calypso.
I always had plenty of towel in my room to take to the pool, but I usually bring a beach towel with me, no matter what resort I stay in because I just like a bigger towel to set on the chair or to wrap around me.

Calypso. Very close to food court and pool. I was the mug man and being in Calypso was great for both areas.

pool towels - just call mousekeeping and use your own towels. I called before we went to the pool and by the time we got back there were 6 sets sitting on our bed.

Number to reach - 407 - 939-6000

We stayed at All Star Music from 9/3-8 and we loved the resort, food court, pool, and transportation.
