We check in Oct 3rd and have a "preferred" room location, but from what Ive been reading I'm worried that we are going to have a tough time getting to sleep due to the pool noise.

Are there any quieter rooms that we could request that are still in the preffered location?

I'd still like to be close to the Melody Hall for bfast/bus stop.

Thanks Diser's

Anyone got some tips/suggestions?

Are there rooms that are near the pool but face away from it?

Ask for a room facing away from the pool.
Our room in Calypso bulding #10 overlooked the gardens and we could see some of the All Star Movies buildings in the distance.

I stay at the values quite often and have never had an issue with noise.

The noise issues come with :

1. The main pool is located very close to some of the value rooms.

The themed pools at the mods and deluxes are set away from the rooms.

Tip: Ask for a room facing away or located a ways from the main pool.

2. Turbo toilets

The Values are newer and have the turbo toilets.

Tip: Close your bathroom door at night because noise travels through the plumbing.

3. Connecting rooms

About 50% of the value rooms have connecting doors.

Noise will travel under the connecting doors in a room.

Tip: If you have noisy neighbors open your connecting door and place a rolled up bath towel on the floor between then close and lock your connecting door.

Some guests find that the noise from a small fan or a white noise machine helps them sleep better.

These tips should help you get a restful sleep wherever you choose to stay.

So there are rooms that face away from the pool, and i should ask for one of them.

Do you prefer1st, 2nd or third floor? and why?

I had knee surgery in march and am just now gettting back to normal but with all the walking we will be doing Im wondering what floor to ask for.

Is higher up better or worse in your opinion?

Im thinking second floor due to not being on the beaten path of first level, yet one less set of stairs to climb than third?

All the buildings have 2 sets elevators located near the center of the building so choose the floor you think you would like.

Here is the layout of an All Star Movie building.
All Star Music is laid out the same way.:

we had a room facing the pool in calypso- and after the first 10 min we really didnt hear the pool noise (and that is with the movie playing) both of my kids (age 1 and 3.5) slept through it cause they were so exhausted from the parks

we just got back from the calyspo building last Sunday-- building #10 and we did not have a problem at all with the noise-- acutally i didn't even hear the people next to us in there room-- or anything-- the pool seemed to calm down a lot when they put the movie on at 9-- but you should be fine:) and its a awesome location with a short walk to the pool and the food court-- have fun and enjoy yourself:)
