Hello,

Im thinking about moving from the All-star music to Swan or Dolphin. It would be a $700-800 price difference(factoring in the pay for parking since im driving) and we would have to move our dates up a week during the fourth of July. I am trying to justify the move. Money is not really the problem, I just want to make sure that I am doing the right thing with the week that I am going, and I want to make sure that the hotel is worth it. It's only two of us. Thanks for your help.

Jim

Hi,

I think you will find the Swan and Dolphin to be very nice, but you should be aware that since they are not Disney owned....

1) No Magical Express

2) No Resort Airline Check-in

3) No Disney Dining Plan

4) You can't charge purchases to your room (unless the purchase was made at the Swan or Dolphin).

If you are driving, numbers one and two will not be an issue. Other than that, it's your call...no one here can tell you how to spend your $700!!

But I'm sure you'll have a great time no matter what you decide.

We stayed at the Dolphin 4/18 - 4/25 and loved it! In fact, DH and I will be returning for our 20th anniversary in Oct. We both love Epcot and for us the proximity to the park can't be beat. Also, I get the nurse discount so it's a no-brainer for us.
That being said, we've never stayed at a "Disney" resort so I can't really compare to that but the resort is absolutely beautiful. And I can't say enough about all of the CM's at the resort, absolutely wonderful!

we went to the dolphin to eat a blue zoo. All though we didnt stay there the hotel was very nice and the front desk staff was very friendly. The grounds outside were beautiful. It was nice to eat there and then ride the boat to Epcot. The Beach/Yact Club and Boardwalk are near by. We decided to stay in this area our next trip.

Location! Location! Location!

You can walk to so much from any EPCOT hotel--including EPCOT! It's so convenient!

And the Dolphin is a nice hotel anyway.

The convenient walk to Epcot would be a major factor in my choosing, however since I love all of the perks that Disney offers guest of their hotels, I would stick with ASMu. If loosing Magical Express, DDP, airline check-in, and room charges doesn't mean that much to you, and money is no object, I would think the Swan and Dolphin to be the better choice. :)

Love Kermit is right:
Location! Location! Location!
I would take Swan and Dolphin any time just because the location, I'm a value person by heart only because we don't have a lot of money, as soon as I leave disney I start saving for my next trip.
I love beds too.

The fact that you are two adults would be reason enough. You will love it!

If money is not the issue, by all means enjoy the Dolphin. Despite the fact you don't get a few of the Disney perks, as the other poster pointed out, you do get a great resort, at a great price. You also may use the Disney transportation and EMH.
For the money & location, you can't beat this resort IMO!

Have fun!

P.S. The ten dollar per night "resort" fee, is for wireless internet and the big bottles of water in your room. Be sure to take them. They restock you everyday.:thumbsup2

Like others have said, you can't beat the location (esp. if you aren't travelling with little kids who love the MK best). For a couples trip, I think that any of the hotels in the Boardwalk area would beat any other hotel on the property. Walking to and from Epcot at night is great, and the easy boat ride to DHS is pleasurable and relaxing.

Thank you for your responses. I called this morning and changed my reservation over to the Dolphin. Ill be there 6/25-7/1, couldn't believe it was available!
