I am so confused as to which might be the best, and especially the best, most convenient to Disney location.

We are a family of 2 adults and 3 older kids (11,11,14). I think I have it narrowed down to:

All Star Music Family Suites - even with AAA discount rate, still the most "expensive" option, but on-property. Con for my husband is no hottub:sad2:

Blue Heron - can probably get 1 bedroom suite for about $100. Looks like great location and property but instead of second bedroom, there are bunkbeds in a nook. Sounds like a downside but my kids may actually think that is cool.

Lake Buena Vista Resort - Probably second choice to Blue Heron, but would get a real second bedrooms. I'm thinking that the pool looks kind of small??

Caribe Cove - great price for real 2 bedroom, brand new but I am not familiar with this location...is it OK? Fast and convenient? No reviews!

Thanks!
Jill

won't go with Caribe cove it is further away than either Blue Heron or LBV resort.

All star music is expensive - despite it being a value resort.

how well does your family get along - if great - then I might consider POR - this place in the AB section sleeps 5. Now it is a hotel room, a small hotel room.

Disney will take you back and forth to the airport, as well WDW transportation for free.

otherwise go with offsite condo.

Have you looked into Windsor Hills? Their pool and stuff is so nice, and you can probably get a two or three bedroom for that much and it's really close.

I looked into it a lot and we ended up with Windsor Palms cause I got a great price, but WH was so nice!

Good luck!

I haven't been to any of these resorts, so I don't really have specific opinions on them.

If I had three kids that age, I would not settle for anything less than 2 bathrooms... which rules out Blue Heron. (What can I say, I'm a space hog... I don't want to be cramped on my vacation.) If you plan to be at WDW for at least 5 days, you might want to consider renting a condo/townhome/pool home from a private owner offsite. You will get the most space for your $$. Depending on what time of year you want to travel, how long of drive tot he parks you can tolerate, and your required amenities, you can 2-4 bedroom places for $90-$120 per night.

The townhomes at Windsor Hills come with your own private splash pool right at the unit, and resort has a nice pool and club house. In the slower seasons you can get the 3 bedroom for $100 - $120 per night. WH is about a 5 min drive to the Animal Kingdom parking lot. There is regular DISer on this board, George, who owns townhouses at Windsor Hills. His website is really nice, you might want to take a look at it... www.5mins2disney.com; or you can look windsorhillsrent.com

Condos at Emerald Island and Windsor Hills can be rented for $70-$90 per night.

If you don't mind staying another 10 minutes out, you can rent homes that have their own pool and hot tub for about $100 - $125 per night.

http://www.vrbo.com/82167 this house looks beautiful, and is a relative bargain because the rate already includes the 13% FL hotel tax.

Good luck shopping for accommodations. It is really exciting to look at all the places.

Depending on when you are traveling, you can get a 2 bedroom unit at Cypress Pointe resort for under $100/night including tax.

We stayed at the LBV Resort Village in June and it was lovely. The accommodation is large and very well equipped and of course brand new. It's well located for the Disney parks (we made it to the Epcot and MK parking lots in under 10 minutes) and I4 is close for travelling further afield. The pool is kinda small but there is a hot tub and a much larger pool is under construction in phase 2 of the resort. It may well be open by the time you visit. There is an Irish bar/grill onsite and a small convenience store and there are plenty of restaurants within a few minutes drive. We'd certainly stay there again.
