Booking early Feb 2019 and both are within $ of each other. Which would you choose and why?

I would go with Pop. The resort theming is great, it has its own bus and has been renovated

I also vote pop. It just feels a bit more upscale if the price is close, and that was before the newly renovated rooms.

If the price were the same, I'd probably go with Pop since by then it will have all been renovated.

I am going to go against the majority and say go with Movies! We loved out stay there. We were in the Mighty Ducks section. Our room was so quiet. It was so close to Music, we would sometimes use their bus from the parks...whichever one was there first.

When we stayed at Pop, we saw so many people behaving badly. There were baseball boys running around crazy while their parents drank from a keg in a room...there was trash in the stairwells (the CMs just couldn't keep up)...we saw two people back their cars into other cars in the parking lot and just keep going like nothing happened. So while now of this was the resort's fault, it would be hard to stay there again.

I would go with Pop! We loved it when we stayed there - the updated rooms where so nice and the beds were very comfortable. The food options in the food court were better than I had anticipated. Transportation was no issue for us, although the busses were packed pretty tight leaving the parks at night. It was no big deal for us, we usually opted to wait for the next bus so that seats would be available and my 4 YO wouldn't have to stand.

If it really matters, the rooms as ASM are currently being renovated and will be very similar to Pop rooms, and we had considered booking ASM to save a little bit of money - but we were so happy with Pop that we are just going to stay with what we know and love.

Sounds like you had an unfortunate group staying there with you, but can you blame the resort? When we stayed there for the marathon, when the half got cancelled there were runners running the grounds and others cheering, but the resort gets no credit or blame for that.
I have read many reviews, but have not experienced it myself, that have described similar behavior that you are when people stayed at the all stars, so I think it's sort of a luck of the draw things especially when staying at the values.

I should have done a better job proofreading my post. The last sentence should have said, "So while none of this was the resort's fault, it would be hard to stay there again."

I was trying to say that even though it wasn't the resort's fault, it just left us not wanting to come back.

Movies! LOVE the Disney movie theming and as it has 1,000 fewer rooms that translates into fewer guests. The Mighty Ducks section is maybe a 5 minute walk to the bus stop at Music! I also prefer the layout of the food court-- you do not walk thru the gift "shop" to get to the food.
