ASMo vs. POP???

We are planning our trip for May 2006 and this will be our first time staying on-site (rented a vacation villa last year) so I have a lot of questions! I was just wondering between ASMo and POP, which would you pick and why? pros and cons of each? or are all values pretty much the same in your opinion?

I was leaning towards ASMO because my ds...love, love, loves Toy Story and he about had a heart attack when he saw the TS building on the WDW website and on the planning dvd. I know that even if we don't stay there we can still go explore ASMo so he can see woody and buzz. I am kinda hoping we get some kind of code or special so we can stay at a moderate instead of a value but if that doesn't happen we will be choosing between these two. Any insight is appreciated!!

For the most part, the amenities at all of the value hotels are the same. I have stayed at both POP and Movies and our family enjoyed them both.

POP is newer, has an additional pool, and always has it's own bus service. At times, Movies shares a bus with the other 2 All Star Resorts.

Having stayed at both though, I think in your situation I'd go with Movies. We stayed there for that exact reason, I have 3 boys who were nuts about Toy Story. There was nothing like seeing the huge Buzz and Woody every morning, getting to sit in RC, etc. Your ds will love the other icons around the hotel also - tons of great photo ops! You'll enjoy the trip down memory lane at POP, but it won't mean much to him.

I have to agree with the previous post. For our DS staying at ASMo was the best for his first trip to the World. He was almost 3 when we went.
This year we are going in July and staying at POP. He's excited to see the Big Wheel and The bowling Pin Pool but I think ASMo was best for his first trip-things he could relate to easily.

We have stayed at both and think they are very similar and very fun--so I would definitely recommend staying at All-Star Movies if your DS loves Toy Story!

I'm thinking of staying at 1 of these resorts also. Doesn't 1 of the value resorts have a higher tax?? Which one is it??
