AsMO v. Pop

Ok - here's the deal:

Cast is me & my 3 kids (DD8, DS5-turning 6 on trip, and DS 2.5)

and in a connecting stage, my sister and her DD14.



Which would you stay at and why would you pick that resort?

Maybe I'm biased... but having stayed at both, back to back, Pop wins for me hands down.

I was stuck at Pop during Hurricane Jeanne, and then after the storm, I switched over to Movies as I waited for power to come back. I switched because I had been cooped up in the room during the storm, and I just wanted a change. What a difference...

I like the interior colors of Pop's rooms much better. The larger, nicer dresser at Pop, and the much larger TV that displayed the TV network on screen was also nice. (Instead of just a channel number, it displayed the channel, and what it was, so I didnt have to keep referring to the paper guide).

But the bigget thing was the shower -- at Pop they have bar soap and bottles of shampoo. At the All-Stars, they have all-in-one dispensers. 3 calls and 6 hours later, my request to have them bring me bar soap went unfulfilled. I guess a solution would be to bring ones own, but it shouldn't have to come down to that.

We've stayed at All Star Movies three times, and my youngest DD absolutely LOVES the hotel - especially 101 Dalmations section! Our room was very quiet - we never heard our neighbors. We've stayed twice in 101 Dalmations, and once in Love Bug. The hotel is really nice - and we thought bus service was good!! At times though, they share buses with the other All Stars. The hotel is definitely Disney - the character icons at the buildings are adorable!!! It was also fun to play by the Toy Story Bldgs!!! I would think your kids would love it!!!

This past summer, we spent a few days at Pop Century, and we really liked it!!! (We got to meet the famous Tyler!!!!) We were in the 60s Bldg (the one with Mowgli & Baloo); our room overlooked the kiddy pool. It was very quiet, and a short walk to the food court/bus stop. (Pop Century does not share buses!) We'll be back at Pop Century in December!!!!

We really haven't eaten at either food court though - except for a quick breakfast. Food was good. On one of our visits to All Star Movies, we did order pizza from the room. It was good too.

I've also stayed at both. I like POP better. I don't know what it is about it, but it's just so lively. The only problem I had was with the paper thin walls, but sinve it was just me I just put in ear plugs. I love the food court at Pop lots to choose from. I didn't get to visit the pools at Pop the last time, but I did like the pool at ASMO I guess it's b/c of the Sourcer Mickey Icon...LOL

It depends on what you are looking for. Both resorts have pro's and con's but I find that there are less con's at POP. In Fact I'll be checking in tonight for 4 days!!! WOOO HOOOOO!!!!!

Another POP fan. We've done both as well. 70s at POP in 2/04 and 101 Dalmations at ASMo in 10/04. I'd go back to POP before I go back to ASMo. Now I liked it.. I really did, I just liked POP better. The kiddie pool is much more fun, as are the POP Jets.

The food court is better and I like the movie lounge (at checkin) better too. I never had noise issues at either resorts, but I'd go back to POP in a second... wanna take me with you..LOL
