ASMo..never again! Our experince with ASMO and Charley, very long

Glad your family made it safely thru the hurricane. :)

We really love the ASMovies - we've stayed there twice. We're also really looking forward to our upcoming stay at POP for the first time in Sept.

We did notice the toilets at the ASMovies - but, we also noticed them a couple times at the Polynesian, too. Sometimes I have a hard time sleeping the first night in a new place, but we're usually so exhausted after a day in the parks at Disney that as soon as my head hits the pillow - I'm out. ;) We really love the Value Resorts! :)

Excuse me Little Mermaid for thinking that the neighbours must have left allready. I cannot understand how somebody can sleep next to a working alarmclock, earplugs maybe?
The walls are really very thin a the value resorts, we heard people snore next door at PopCentury.
That's why I allways travel with earplugs :D
But don't worry my husband doesn't use them, so he can hear the alarmclock!

Sorry to hear of your problems at ASMo. Glad you got home ok.

Someone asked if anyone else was having trouble getting on the boards, slow response etc. YES, Oh my goodness YES!! It's driving me nuts. I thought it was my computer...glad to know it's not. Maybe Charley is still causing trouble?!

:wave2:

Glad to hear that your family made it through the storm. I have to agree with your husband, thin walls and noisy toilets generally don't make my vacation either. I can't stand to listen to alarm clocks either and if I could hear it through the wall then that is even worse. I would've been knocking on there door at the 10 minute mark, they would've been awake when I was done with them. 2 hours, that is rude.

As for the security guard, he was only trying to help out and telling the truth about the roads. The news stations were showing all of the local Floridians trying to evacuate and the roads were blocked up so you would've gotten stuck and had to ride out the storm in your vehicle in traffic. Management was in the wrong, the security guard really did have everyone's best interest at heart.

Thankfully after two mornings of this "alarm clock" they must have left, cause a couple with two kids were taking bags into the room next to us when we came back from the parks on our third day. I can handle kids crying, cause I have two of my own. But DH hates alarm clocks with a passion! How they could have slept through it going off for that long, I have no idea.

Maybe they were deaf or hard of hearing. I don't hear alarm clocks anymore. In fact, my daughters can let them go for hours and I don't hear them. I do try to check and make sure that they are not on if I am in a hotel. I use a vibrating alarm myself.

Just a note... if you are ever in a hotel room and the alarm goes off like that call the front desk. It is possible the room next to you is vacant and the alarm was just left on. I hear it all the time in hotels as I travel (which is why I always check the alarm! Once it went off at 4 am I learned!) If it really annoys me I will call and ask the front desk to fix it.

However, in this case I might have been tempted to call and ask them to turn it off LOL!
