We leave tomorrow night. Our trip got moved up because of Jeanne, DH boss said he absolutely could not go and come back a day later than planned, so instead of arriving Sunday with Jeanne, we're arriving late Friday night.

We're staying at ASMo. Has anyone stayed there during a hurricane, and what should we expect? I know if it hits as it's projected right now, we'll have to stay in our room on Sunday at least. We're flying and not having a grocery stop, should we get extra food from the food court on Saturday night?

Any experiences appreciated!

We were there during Charley. Get as much food as you think you will need to get you through the day and night. We were there with our two kids. The CM's were great!!! We received a flashlight and instructions on what to do. The only thing that made alot of guests mad was that the resort didn't let the guests know that they were closing the food court at a certain time. We knew that it would be closed, but they should have let the guests know just what time.

DH went up to the food court to get us supper. When he returned he said he ran into a lady that told him that it was closed. From what he said she was pretty upset also.

Later that night after Charley went through we received a message on our phone {I think it was after 12 cause we were asleep} saying that they were cleaning up the resort and for guests to stay in their rooms. And after they were done they would open the food court up and leave another message at when that would be. DH told me that another message was left at 2 am that the food court was reopened. Way to late for me!
Luckily we had some bread left over and some peanut butter for sandwichs for the kids. At least they had something to eat before going to bed.

What is ASMo? I've been trying to think, but I just can't figure it out!!!!!!!

We're arriving at Movies Friday night and will be using a Town Car with a grocery stop. We were just going to get sodas and snacks, but I guess now we'll get some more substantial stuff. We'll have accessible rooms that have a fridge, so at least we'll be able to keep stuff.

clkelley, good luck with that grocery stop. :crazy2: There may not be anything left at that point.

I second what Little Mermaid told you. We were at the Contemporary during Hurricane Charley. Lines were incredibly long at the Food and Fun Center after the parks closed. We were told there would be a complimentary buffet dinner served, then we heard it was cancelled, then we heard it was held but they ran out of food.

In any event, a buffet with 3,000 people was not appealing to us, so we were proactive and got some pizza, sandwiches, water and soda in before the lockdown. We were glad we did. We went to the Food and Fun Center later in the evening to heat our pizza in the microwave, found that the food counters were closed with lots of hungry families complaining. We heated up our pizza, went back to the room and enjoyed our dinner.
