Hello all! I am in the process of planning a Feb. 2013 trip with 3 adults, 2 children and 1 infant. I need advice as to whether a Suite at AS Music or 2 rooms at Pop would be better? It is going to be me, my husband, MIL and 3 kids. We have stayed at Pop twice and love it. I have also heard that all the All Star resorts share a bus, so don't know how crowded they get. Any advice would be appreciated!! :worship:

Hi jannel80, I would go with Pop. Nicer, better pools, and they have their own transportation.

If you were to ask DS22 he would say Music, but DS16 would say Pop. I, personally would say Music of the two choices (ASmovies is my fave). Pop is bigger but, depending on which section, I feel like it's just a bit longer walks to and from buses (which is not really an issue for me but can be for some people). Both resorts are great. We are staying at Music this summer, AOA next summer and will most likely stay at POP in 2014. Wherever you stay I hope you have a blast!

I stayed at ASMU and never had a problem with buses. I'm always confuzzled when I see people talk about how *horrible* it is to share buses b/c we stayed at ASMU so we were the middle stop and it literally took about an extra 2 minutes to drive next door and pick up the people at ASMO; granted, it was my first stay on Disney property so I have nothing to compare it to BUT I will share my Pop vs. AS bus story: since the *** are so much smaller than POP, the lines for the buses at ASMU were never very long. Maybe 20 people TOPS and that wasn't the norm, it was usually under 10-15 people in each park line. So we always got on. Well we went to Universal one day and took a shuttle which stopped at several different resorts, one of them being POP. I was taken aback by the HORDES of people standing in the lines for the park buses. I thought for a minute there was a fire drill going on or something, there was so many people, lol. So it seemed to me that with that many people wiating, you might have to wait for several buses to go by before getting on one.

Thank you everyone for the input. I do love Pop, but am thinking about trying something new. For you that have stayed at As Music, how was the food court? I also heard Pop's food court has a lot more variety. We don't eat at the food court a lot, but we do get breakfast there and maybe lunch when we arrive and dparting day.

We stayed at AStMus in the fall in a suite and LOVED IT! They are located in the Jazz buildings which are away from the pool area and quieter. We had a microwave and fridge so we ate breakfast in our room. I used wegoshop.com for the grocery delivery. If you are taking an infant, I would think that the microwave and bigger fridge would be very helpful. Also, there is a lot of shelf and counter space in the kitchenette to put things away and be organized. We had a 3 kids ages 2,9, and 10 and it was very nice.

The shared busses are not bad at all. Music is the middle bus and we only waited for a long time one night when we stayed until the MK closed on a very busy night. There were a lot of ECV's that night which took up space. Otherwise, I never had a problem with the buses.

We've stayed at both POP with adjoining rooms and ASMuFS with me, DW and 2 DD. For your party I think 2 connecting rooms at Pop would be best. If you and DH take 1 room with pack-n-play for your infant then MIL in 1 bed and 2 kids in the other bed in the connecting room would give the most comfort IMHO. Sticking an adult in the pull out sleeper sofa is criminal in my mind and you don't need a MIL with "ammunition". The only time we did a sleeper sofa was at WL Deluxe room for my buddy and his MIL...but he couldn't win with his MIL anyway so sofa sleeper city was fine for her!!! Of course, YMMV with your MIL depending on your relationship.
Buses weren't a real issue at ASMu..same wait and crowds at POP for us, but food court seemed a bit crowded at ASMu. We thought POP food court had more offerings and was a bit easier to get in and out before our food got cold. ADMuFS or any other FS (AoA) is nice for young families, but anyone older than 13 is going to feel a bit uncomfortable in the living room pull out beds, IMO. Good Luck!

Bigkid45- Thank you for the great info! I think we will stick with the 2 rooms at Pop. I don't think any of the adults would want to sleep on the pull out sofa. You just helped me make my decision! :)

The fold outs in the All Star Music Family Suites are very comfortable. I shared one with my niece, and we both slept just fine. And I am kind of fussy that way. Disney had them designed especially for them, so they have no bars that run underneath your back, poking you all night long. In fact, I'm considering staying in a Family Suite again this winter.

Keep in mind too that Disney won't guarantee you will get 2 rooms that connect to each other. So if you are planning on having them to make your vacation easier, you may want to rethink your decision to get 2 rooms. Disney tries to give connecting rooms out when they are requested, but they don't always succeed. I know that from personal experience!:headache:
