Will this work?
I am asking this question for someone staying off site.

They want a magic band but do not want to wait till they get to Disney to purchase it as they want it in advance.
If they know a relative who can purchase a MAGIC BAND IN ADVANCE in WDW, HAVE IT ACTIVATED at somewhere on site they sell magic bands, then have the magic bands shipped to them.

I understand that they then enter the number from the purchased magic band in MDE and "link the magic band". Then they also "link" their park tickets in their MDE Account. 30 days in advance of their first park day, they make FP+ selections. 30 days in advance of the next park day planned, they make those selections.

Am I correct, the FP+ will then be LINKED TO THEIR MAGIC BAND and when they get to the parks, they DO NOT HAVE TO GO TO GUEST SERVICES, CORRECT?:confused3 Just PRESENT the Magic Band at the Ticket Gate and they will finger scan additionally, correct?:confused3

THANKS in advance for verifying the information that I received for them!:goodvibes

The relative should:
- buy MagicBands and NOT have them activated

Your friend should:
- link them to their My Disney Experience account where their tickets are already linked
- this is how the MagicBands become activated

Make sure your friend understands this because if the relative activates them at a register, your friend will not be able to use them.

FPs in the MDE account will be accessed by the MagicBands at all FP tapstiles. The MagicBand serves as the link, the key, to all the info in the MDE account.

THANKS very much! Frustrating....told specifically by Disney that the clerk MUST activate it first...the CM at Disney was EMPHATIC to that point! WOW!:scared1:
I suggested that my friend VERIFY by calling herself just to MAKE SURE!:scared1: Always "better to be safe, than sorry"!:woohoo:
THANKS!:thumbsup2

The common, solid color MagicBands can be purchased without being linked to a ticket.

It's only the Limited Edition and Limited Release MBs that have to be linked to a ticket, to Memory Maker or to another MB.

They just want the Basic MB...Think it something like $12.99 plus tax...
Basic colors is fine!:) Given the fact that the other special edition are more expensive, like $29.99 plus tax, the basic will be fine for them!:)

I have ordered tickets from undercover tourist through Mousesavers and when they get here I want to purchase magic bands online as mentioned above but then how do I link them to the tickets? Do they do that when I purchase them, at the park or can I link them online?

Link your tickets and the MagicBand to your MDE (My Disney Experience) account and they will be active. You can enter the park using your MBs on your first day of your visit.

Thanks. This may be a stupid question, but how do I get to the my Disney experience account site? Is it through the regular Disney web page?
