I can sum it up for you:
'You're a bad mom'
'You should drop your daughter off at the orphanage' (not even a joke)
'How dare you put yourself first'
'I feel awful for your daughter'

You might to start by reviewing the OCTOBER 2017! CANCELLED ADR Thread - Guidelines in first post - as the board policy for that thread is stated there. As indicated in the first post, questions should be handled via Conversation/PM and not in the thread itself.
If you have a questions related to the policy itself, the best place to start is to send a message to one of the moderators on that forum. If you still need answers you can always send a message to admin@wdwinfo.com .
In the situation you were asking about, I suspect that the true answer is that those cancellation threads are not designed for questions/requests/trades in the thread itself. Those wanting to try to time one of those ADRs should contact the poster canceling directly to try to coordinate. The restrictions came after many, many issues allowing questions/requests/trades.
The DIS Guidelines, which everyone agreed to follow when they registered for the DIS, are also a good reference for answers to questions about posting on the site.
Welcome to the DIS!![]()
Thanks for the reply Doc.
I admitted that I didn't read the first post initially. After having posts deleted from the Cancelled ADR thread it was suggested I do just that.
I honestly didn't even think to look there...just jumped to most recent posts.
But when I did read the rules, I became curious as to why WANTS or TRADES weren't allowed.
It was an innocent question, to which, thanks to you, was finally answered.
And I appreciate you helping out a forum rookie, as I am.
I did message a Moderator and didn't receive a reply.
So I asked my question in the forum itself...again...apparently a no-no, and to by some of the messages I received, a capital crime.
It was then that I received a few not so friendly, keyboard warrior messages...from non-Moderators I will add.
All in all, lessons learned:
1) Read the rules
2) Ask questions to Mods in PMs
3) (Basically) don't question the rules
4) Don't expect everyone to be cheery and full of Disney joy with their responses.
5) Read the rules again
And thanks for the welcome!

I concur.This is a Disney board right?
We're supposed to be happy right?
I was going to let it go, but decided to post this because frankly, some people on this board need to really calm down and lighten up.
In this case, requests for ADRs would (and have in the past) far outnumber the posts offering the cancellations. If requests were allowed, few posters would even be able to locate the actual cancellation offerings and the thread would become quickly useless. (This policy comes from experience, not just frivolity.)
Again, feel free to ask a moderator about specific policies on their board(s) - as policies can vary by boards. But sending questions to admin@wdwinfo.com is also welcome (while some will suggest that they never receive a response, those are very few in number and, in most cases ask hypothetical questions or questions about specific posters).
In addition, making comment on moderating decisions via admin@wdwinfo.com is also preferred when other avenues have been exhausted rather than posting on the boards. As evidenced here, such questions usually get a lot of anecdotal responses from those who don't really know the answer rather than a direct reply. Publicly asking such questions also invites some questionable replies (as happened here) which end up being reported and acted upon as warnings (which also happened here in this very thread).
Again, Welcome to the DIS!![]()

you will ask nothing and you will like it
I was joking
That's one of those times where it takes knowing the poster and well how they post lol to 'get' their comments. Please tell me you're joking...

1) Yep 2) Good luck with that 3)most important part 4)Yep 5)You got it! Welcome to the DISAll in all, lessons learned:

Apparently you can't have a conversation on these boards about the rules.
Yesterday I had posted in the October Cancelled ADR thread asking if you are allowed to TRADE ADRs on the boards.
Obviously I found out the answer is NO.
I then asked why? Not to challenge the rules or debate, but just honestly curious as to the reason why.
Maybe something happened in the past and that's why they aren't allowed anymore..
Maybe it was a legal issue with Disney...
I dunno. It's just a question. Jeez.
I'm NOT trying to change them, was just asking why you're not allowed to post for WANTED ADRs, and if it was only for the cancellation thread that you couldn't post about WANTS or TRADES...thinking maybe a separate thread would be allowed....which I found is not allowed either.
And so far I have gotten nothing but a few nasty comments in my message box, posts deleted with "That's not allowed, period", or flat out ignored.
A few people kindly told me to read the 1st post on the 1st page where it explains the rules, (which I didn't initially do...so that's my fault)
Another girl, 'pixie' was in her name, was very nice and tried to give me her version of an explanation why they aren't allowed...
But others?
Not calling out by name, but I guess that's why they messaged me privately because they didn't want others to see their true colors on how deep down they're just nasty, miserable people...
This is a Disney board right?
We're supposed to be happy right?
Not uptight and scolding of those simply asking questions about the rules?
Rules are in place for a reason. I 1000% understand that.
I do my best in life not to break rules and to be orderly and abide by the rules.
I'm new here and new to internet forums in general.
I have never really participated in any community boards like this before.
But I have had a really good time thus far and have talked with some really awesome people.
I have received some amazing help from others in planning my October trip.
The info here is flat out amazing.
I'm always checking the boards in the morning seeing if I could add to someone's thread with advice or simply a thumbs up.
I'm a pretty nice guy if you ask me but damn man...this just left a bad taste in my mouth.
I was going to let it go, but decided to post this because frankly, some people on this board need to really calm down and lighten up.
Have a great day everyone!
TO THE DIS! WHERE "Almost" EVERYBODY KNOWS YOUR NAME!
Firstto the Dis!
Don't let a few deter you from posting again. Like you, I have asked innocent questions and met with rude replies for no apparent reason. It's crazy how being behind a keyboard can bring out pure nastiness in people.
And hey, fwiw you were "daring" enough to post on the Community Boards ... which are considered the meanest group on the Dis.Looks like you've survived us so you're good.
Post away!!
At least the last time I looked that's whom I was...And there goes my plan to search it out and enjoy a read during my coffee break![]()

Really? I thought the PMs were censored the same way regular posts are. If that's not the case, I'm going to have to seriously ramp up the filth I PM to @ronandannette.I bet I could think of a few of those nasty members on here. I recently got a few lovely messages from members on here. I should copy/paste the massages here to expose them. One message I counted 7 f-bombs and a few pos's.

Please tell me you're joking...

Don't take him too seriously he usually responds Hey.
