I was just reading on the Swan/Dolphin Info thread about Starwood members asking for upgrades. It read: After joining the Starwood program be sure and add your Starwood number to your reservation. Upon check in kindly remind the employee of your Starwood status and ask for an upgraded room if it's available.
I joined Starwood last year before our stay at Dolphin. Our room was a nice room, but I don't think it was an upgraded room. I had asked for upper floor and west wing and got exactly that, so we were happy. I just assumed they would "automatically" upgrade us if there was availability.
I am not one to be "pushy" and demand, (I'm waaay to timid), but does anyone think that it would be wrong to ask for an upgrade upon check-in? I know. . .I should just pay the money if I want an upgraded room, (wish I could) but I'm am going on teacher's rate as it is, it's all we can afford. . .so what does everyone else here think?
