Godspeed and lots of prayers being said for this tiny sweet baby boy, his care givers, and all those who love him.

My thoughts and prayers are with them.

My DD was born at 23 weeks and was just over a pound.
She's a year old now and doing great! She's toddling around and getting into everything. You'd never guess she was a preemie, she's huge (bigger than most babies her age) and so far seems on track developmentally. She even has a new (full term) baby brother.

These tiny babies can be such little fighters.

I have 2 IRL experiences with this - my friend gave birth to twins at 26 weeks just over 4 years ago. They were told they wouldn't make it...and 4.5 months later were released from the NICU They are thriving. Very hard, emotional time, though.

And when MY son was in the NICU, our "neighbor" was a mom of twins born at 25 weeks. They spent 7 months in the hospital....but are now doing well.

It's terrifying....but isn't always a situation that ends badly! My son's NICU nurse told me the smallest baby she took care of (and that survived!) was 13 oz at birth! Can you imagine???????

Prayers sending your way.
My personal opinion is that if a mother has good prenatal care and the advanced medicine/care we have today he has a wonderful chance at not only survival but a long healthy life.
My husband was very small at birth and you would never know it now.
A friend of mine had her daughter very very early and it was a scary situation too but she is an amazing, intelligent and beautiful 14 year old now.

Saturday morning update:

Late yesterday afternoon we received another update about the tiny one. He is still holding his own. Apparently, the family will know more Sunday afternoon. If there is no infection then they will begin more aggressive treatments with him. Please pray that he continues to hang on and that no infection is present. Today the family is going together so that the older kids can see their baby brother for the first time.
