Asking for donations from companies and suppliers

Has anyone asked a scrapbooking company or supply reps for donations and gotten any?

My Cadette Girl Scouts are starting their silver award project and will be scrapping our council's history. As you all know, supplies are expense, but we are only looking for two albums, paper (which they would need a ton) and adhesive. They decided they would buy any embellishments themselves or make them.

Any ideas out there???

hey, I do have a list of scrap companies...

colorboc, junkitz, club scrap all donated to the school auction. Haven't heard from all the other places yet. My list is pretty long (addresses and fax numbers) so just email me if you'd like it. maggie

Thanks I got your list. I already had Autumn Leaves and Provo Craft but the rest were all new. Can you let me know which ones you have heard from and what you recieved??? Any contact you and say they wouldn't do anything? I am curious to see what kind of response the girls are going to get.

hey, we just got today a box from scrapjammies with a pair of bottoms that are a kids 10/12 size that say "got photo's" (they are pretty cute) anna griffith said no... club scrap donated a kit, colorboc donated 3 albums and 3 scrapbook kits (albums scissors, stickers included) and 4 flower fairy kits (I so want one of those!), making memories said no, but they have donated in the past, paper and embellishments... junkitz sent a tshirt and their idea book. I think that's all we've heard from right now. good luck! maggie

I am glad to hear colorbok donated. They have albums that are dark green (spinach is the color) that I ask to see if they would donate (2). Hopefully they will come through for us too. I'll let you know if we get anything. I also write CK to see if they would be interested in an article of Girl Scouts scrapping and asked for a donation too. We'll see if I hear anything.

I'm a Family Support Specialist, and we are starting up a hobby day as a form of stress relieve for the families that we work with. Hobby Lobby gave us a donated gift card that we were able to use for some supplies. I was wondering if you have the addresses to the companies that you listed that we might ask for donations as well. We work with families who are raising children with complex needs and challenging behaviors. We do not charge for our services and the "Hobby" Day is new and we're incorporating it as a support group of sorts Thanks for any help. Feel free to e mail me privately.

Have you contacted your local CM consultant? I am not a consultant, but acquire a lot of stuff that I will never use and would love to have a charitable cause to give it too. Heck, I bet if you solicited just this board, you could get a ton of stuff! (Enablers, are you listening?!)

Maybe one who is interested could host a donation site at her next event? It's worth a shot, plus it's great PR for the consultant (if she's smart!)
