Is the Appetizer " Taste of Norway" cold buffet included in a 1 TS DDP credit? We are 3 adults without children and not particularly interested in the Princesses. But this is an Epcot restaurant we haven't tried yet. Thoughts?

Yes, it is. Akershus works as a prix fixe on DDP.

As someone familiar with real Scandinavian food, I think the food is underwhelming (and, the meatball snob in me says that the meatballs are a bit of a travesty in claiming Norwegian heritage). It's definitely a "pay for venue and character" scenario. The cold buffet is pretty good.

We enjoyed the food! If you aren't terribly interested in the princesses, I would also suggest Spice Road Table and Via Napoli. If you want to leave EP briefly, you could also go to Trattoria al Forno on the Boardwalk which is really good.

LOVE Akershus....princesses or not! The food is great, but I'm partial to Scandinavian cuisine. Just everything I love...fish, cheeses, bread......VALHALLA!!

I could eat my weight in the smoked salmon they have on the cold buffet. And cheese. Salmon and cheese. And maybe the entree. They had an amazing roast beef sandwich on the lunch menu last time I was there.

We are doing Spice Road Table as well!! This year we have fewer evenings in Epcot as we are planning one evening in AK to see all the new things & we decided to do HDDR again. We love it. So Via Napoli did not make the cut this year after several straight years. We do enjoy it, but are considering trying something new.

If you can get gjetost (the brown cheese that's on the buffet) outside of WDW and don't care about the princesses, I'd say skip it.
