Anybody have these? How do you like them? Do they run true to size?

I've researched these shoes pretty thoroughly, and they sound like they're just what I want, but there's nowhere around here to try them on. I'm going to order them online. Of course, I can return them, but I'm hoping for some real life experiences here! :)

I have a pair of Asics, though they are the Cumulous not the Nimbus. They are however the best pair of sneakers I have ever owned. I was going to go the cheap route and buy a pair of Addidas I saw on clearance, and a friend of mine insisted I try the Asics before I decided. After trying them on, there was no question on which I was buying.

And in my experience, yes they run true to size.

I love mine! Well, I don't like the color (way flashy, silver and turqouise/bright blue), but they sure are comfortable. I have the Nimbus 12 model. I believe they now have the 13 model out. I've been on the lookout for soem 12s on closeout somewhere, cause they sure aren't cheap! These are the most expensive shoes I've ever owned ($120-ish plus tax at the fancy running shoe store; no, I'm not a runner but when your feet hurt so bad you'd pay whatever it takes).

Thye do run true to size. One thing that does bug me is when I'm doing wall squats w/ the ball behind me at the gym, my feet shift out to the outside becasue the upper is mostly mesh. I always worry they're going to tear. But if you're mostly walking or running (or don't have wide feet like me!), it should be no big deal.

Started in GN 12s and now have the 13s. Feel great.

Thanks everybody! It sounds like I'm making a good choice. :)

I do have wide feet, but I'll mainly be wearing them walking. I'm glad you brought up the point about the 12s and 13s. I knew the newer version was the 13s, but I'm looking at the 12s because they are definitely cheaper. It's a little harder finding the wide version, but I have found them for $70 - $80.

Looks like I'll order them today. :thumbsup2

I have about 5 pairs of Gel Nimbus - starting with Nimbus 7 and up to 11 I think. Very comfortable. I'm a pretty solid 6.5M in standard shoes. I buy all my athletic shoes in size 7M (including these) to allow for athletic socks and foot swelling. These fit me perfectly in a size 7.

I would also recommend Nike Air Pegasus. Nike usually has narrow fit but I find the fit of these to be comparable to the Asics Gel Nimbus. My DH does triathlons and he runs in the Air Pegasus and he has picky feet.

I was going to say this. They do run "true to size" for a running shoe. However, most people find that they need to buy their running shoes about a half size bigger than their other shoes (depends on the distances they'll be going and running versus walking - since that effects the amount of swelling and spreading that can occur).

I've worked at a running store for years and the Nimbus is one of the most popular shoes for people looking for a neutral/cushioning shoe.

I love my Gel Nimbus 13s, but I love my Gel Equation 5s even more. :cloud9: And they're considerably cheaper.

I wear an 11 wide (yes, I know, I have very big feet! :rotfl2:). I can sometimes wear 11 mediums.

The Nimbus don't seem to come in an 11.5. I found the Nimbus 12 on sale in a size 12 for $69.95 with free shipping. I wonder whether I should stick with the 11 since I won't be running (maybe just a little while out walking but very little) or go for the 12. Any ideas?

ETA: Okay, I did find them in a 11.5 so that's an option now.

I think pretty true to size. If you also wear Tom's by chance, my Aasics are 1/2 size bigger than my Toms.

I can actually get the Nimbus 12s for $70.67 with free two day shipping on Amazon right now. The color (Titanium/Maui Blue/Lightning) isn't my preference, but the price is! :rotfl:

Thanks again to everybody! :woohoo:

ETA: Wound up paying $60.67. I had forgotten about a Amazon Local deal where I had bought a $10 gift card for $5. That went on it so I guess I really paid $65.67 including the card cost. I think I'm going to be very satisfied. :)

I've had the Nimbus before, but the Cumulus work better for me. I'm on my 4th pair of Cumuluses (Cumuli?). They just seem to fit my foot better. I don't think you could go wrong with either one though.

Thanks! If the ones I ordered don't seem right, I'll try the Cumulus next. I'm hoping that these name references to clouds mean they are as comfortable as I'm counting on! :rotfl:

I ordered a pair of GT2160 - can anyone tell me if they are good?

My husband has a pair for running and like others, loves everything but the color. He did lots of research as well then went cheap and bought a pair of clearance sauconys. He went back and got the asics 6 months and $110 later...loves them! I used to run in asics but have switched to Brooks.

This line is supposed to be pretty good ... the 2160s are "last year's" model & has since been replaced by the 2170.

I started running in Asics Cumulus, & it was a very comfy shoe. I then went to Asics Gel Kayanos, but I didn't like them as well. Then onto Brooks Andrenalines & they became my favorite shoe. Until I found Brooks Pure Flows. I just ordered a second pair of them (different color this time) so I can rotate them on my runs.

Short update:

My shoes arrived today. I did order them half a size larger as suggested, and I think it will probably be a good thing once I put them on with socks and actually start using them.

Thanks to everybody for the advice! :thumbsup2
