One in my party is looking to eat at an Asian / Oriental restaurant. The first thought was Yak & Yeti. It has been mentioned on here a lot, and the one that wanted this type of food really only looked at places at Animal Kingdom.

My question to the group is what do you suggest. While looking at Epcot I saw Nine Dragons. I never hear them talked about on here, are they any good?

Are there other good places to eat that serve this type of food?

We ate at Teppan Edo and it was excellent, but it's not any different from any Benihana-style restaurant you may have near home. It was our #1 meal on that trip!
We've had less than stellar food in the China Pavilioin, but it was a while ago. I would be interested to see what others say who have been there more recently.

Teppan Edo is a family tradition ( or should I say Teppan Yaki which is used to be called)...I've probably been about 10 times.....DS says it's the best part of the trip.....

Excellent meal, great show...but as the other poster says - not unlike what you'll get eating Hibachi at home....

It'll be interesting to see what other folks chime in....

We tried the Nine Dragons on our 2006 trip and it was good. Not the best
Chinese food we have had since it seems it is hard to beat New York
Chinese food but I would go again. Stay away from their counter service
restaurant, Lotus Blossom. This was totally disgusting. In no way did it
seem as if we were eating Chinese food. Very bland. We were very disappointed. I haven't tried Yak and Yeti but hope to on our next trip since
we love Asian food.

In all the years we have gone to WDW we have never tried it before...but I am going to put it on our list for lunch in Oct...the menu looks good and I have heard a few good things about it

We have been to Yak & Yeti and loved our entrees...not crazy about the appies or desserts

I also recommend 9 dragons...it was great!!! I have also heard lots of other good reviews since it was rehabbed.

Consider Tokyo Dining at Epcot or a compromise might be found at the California Grill which is known for its sushi, sashimi, and tempura.

Unfortunately the one that wants Oriental food, does not like fish :confused3

So, if I have this correct these are the choices;

1) Yak & Yetti (TS & CS)
2) Nine Dragon (TS)
3) Teppan Edo (TS)
4) Lotus Blossom Cafe (CS)

If I want seafood type items, I can also do
5) Tokyo Dining (TS)

We love Y&Y, Teppan Edo, and Tokyo Dining.

If you are looking at CS also, the Sunshine Seasons at Epcot has a great Asian Station, many combos, and the Chili Noodle Bowl is EXCELLANT!

Tokyo Dining is by far my favorite. The sushi is good but i know you said that would be out. They also have tempura and terrikyaki on the meny as well.

I don't love Y&Y CS so much. Very filling, not the best. For CS, you want to go to Sunshine Seasons.

My dd12 loves asian flavored foods. She would order the restaurants Y&Y, 9Dragons, Tokyo Dining (she likes chicken tempura and you can get it there), then Teppan Edo. She doesn't like the Japanese-style steakhouses because they don't use enough flavor. We're going with friends, and she doesn't want to join them at Teppan Edo, so we may do Tokyo at the same time. Go figure.
