Hi DISFANS3~ We do not live in Asheville, but in Bessemer City (right outside of Gastonia - which is just west of Charlotte). We can make it in 10 hours - that does allow for gas/bathroom stops - usually about 3-4. Just depends on the kids. We have started driving down night before our ressie starts and staying in a hotel room around Jacksonville. This seems to work out best. Our last trip 3 years ago - we drove straight through - not on purpose - but due to Daytona Bike Week we could not find a hotel room anywhere on I-95. So we actually made it in a little over 9 hrs - and got to stay the rest of the night in our assigned room at WL - for FREE! Just lucky I guess - probably would never happen again!

I am not sure of the route you would take from Asheville - but we drive into Charlotte and go I-77 - into SC and make our way to I-95. Your route might be a different and you may have to add or subtract sometime depending!!

I have a good friend that lives near Asheville and he can make it in 10 hours with no problems, in fact it is usually 9 hours.

Based on this, you are right in the ballpark.

We live in Gastonia, NC and can make it in 8 hours hope this helps. :moped:

Two weeks ago I drove from G'ville, SC to within 10 miles of Disney in 9 1/2 hrs. This was on a Friday and arriving in Orlando area during rush hour.

We live in Hendersonville, and driving straight through with just two or three quick stops (10 minutes or less) we can make it in right around 9 hours.

If you want to break up the trip, try stopping for the night around St. Augustine FL (World Golf Village area). We like the Comfort Suites right off I95. It gets you beyond Jacksonville (and the traffic) so you start out early the next morning just a couple of hours from WDW! (And you have not paid an arm and a leg for a bed). Plus, if you arrive early, enjoy walking around St. Augustine, a very historic town, or take in the sights at the golf complex which is lots of fun.

You should be able to drive it in 9 to 9.5 hrs.
We live in Asheville and we can make it in 8.5 hrs.
