Some say we are cruel for stringing the kids along like that. I say it's fair game! I've had to sit on this for over a year at this point, I'm going to have some fun with it!

AAAAHHHHHH Christmas morning, so sweet, so magical, SO EARLY!

My kids are early risers to begin with but on Christmas, they are just crazy! Here they are, all jacked up :

The more astute of you will notice the darkness still outside, yup it was pretty darn early! The very astute of you will notice the Mickey Bags in the corner. Sadly, this is the best pic we have of it. We didn't do the best job of preserving the moment for posterity's sake photographically this time around!

So around 6 AM we give the kids the green light to start into the Santa stuff. The kids are excited, sweet and thankful but ready to get to the Mickey Bags. We tell them, that goes last, everything else has to get opened first. That and we are waiting on my sister. She lives about 45 minutes away from my folks and wanted us to wait until they got there to open the non-Santa stuff. So my mom wants us to wait so we wait. Finally the moment arrives.

Oh the carnage, oh the intrigue, oh the...... confusion?

My oldest is wondering why we used old spelling tests and school papers "You are throwing that away?" Ummmmmm YEAH! You know how much paper a kid brings home over the course of the school year? I'm not keeping it all! The girls are so sure and so assured that it is a cruise, so they are looking and looking for the tell-tell sign of the "C" that will tip off that this is a cruise. Alas, THERE IS NO C! Oh know what to do what to do!

We didn't take pictures but we did grab some video with our camera. It is a little grainy but it gets the idea across. I'll post it next!

It's so funny that their first thought was DISNEY. That's the way my DD is. We were discussing her party and she said "What kind of cake did you get me, a Disney one?" LOL


You know we're all raising the next generation of Disney "nut jobs"! LOL....

The video was awesome! Your reveal was a great idea. And I totally laughed at the end when in a moment of joy the girls hugged and fell on the floor and then you hear, "okay, get off me." Siblings!

We my family gets off the ship and returns home, we are hitting the road and hitting the trail. We will be going backpacking on the Appalachian Trail!

We have done some AT hiking before and this may come as a shock to some of you but I have also done a Trip Report on our first trip with the whole family! You can read about it here.

WHEW! Glad we got that out of the way! In all seriousness though, I did want to let you guys know there will be a delay in finishing the report. I'm not going to forget you or leave you hanging. The nice part about being a teacher is I've got the summer off so I will have plenty of time to finish it. Heck, if enough people want me to, maybe I'll throw in a bonus Trip Report of the hike!
