Just received this e-mail from Thomson

At Thomson we do everything we can to make sure you're always looked after. And with our 'Ash Guarantee' an erupting volcano is no exception. That's why we promise the following:

• We make sure you're looked after by one of our 18,000 staff
• In the unlikely event that your holiday is cancelled due to the ash we'll help you find another one or, of course, offer you a full refund
• We pay for any costs if you have to stay on, within reason*

So, we've got you covered – all you need to worry about is where to go.


Couldn't see what ' within reason' meant but I suppose it's a start.

*In the unlikely event that a holiday is cancelled due to the ash disruption, Thomson will help customers affected find another great deal on a later holiday, or offer a full refund. If an alternative holiday selection is more expensive customers will be required to pay the difference. Reasonable accommodation and food costs are covered for customers affected when overseas.


Keeps mentioning your 'holiday' . Probably best to contact them to make double check but looks like a package.
