 DH and I had to cancel this weekend's 20th Anniv. trip due to Ivan taking a bullseye at our town -- evacuated to upstate Louisiana! We were able to move all to Nov 11-14 (except WL....hoping there will be an opening). I just noticed it is during the fest at EPCOT and printed out good scoop from the web....but so much is sold out already that we are at a disadvantage for sure!

Pleae advise what is a must do and worth it at this Fest. I see some $35 wine parings that sound good.

Is it very crowded?? I have been twice to Garden Show and that was fine...is it worse?

Is there any reason to skip it all together and enjoy quieter parks most of the weekend?

Thanks for all help! We had no damage here but our hearts break for our friends in Gulf Shores, AL and Florida! And now GA and up to PA...it is always better to leave for these storms even though it coust us about $400.

Be sure to go to Epcot that day with an empty stomache because you can literally eat all day long.

Here's the deal- I wish I would have know before I went last year. There are litte kiosks set up all over the world showcase with samples of food and drink from that country. You get a small portion for about $3. There are about 5 options to chose from. For instance they had South Africa, Ireland, Poland and many others. In addition to food they also offer beers or wines from that country. Which is so cool if you do the drink around the world. We did.

You don't need a special ticket or anything to participate in that. We choose not to go with the dinner or the wine thing because there are more than enough options in the kiosks.

They also had an Australian wine tasting for $5 (I think). We tasted about 5 wines.

It was very crowded. And the lines for the kiosks were a little long but they seemed to move fairly quickly. Its worth the wait to taste all the different foods and drink!!

Have a great time I wish I was going again this year!

There are also wine tasting seminars throughout the day. Make sure to get a schedule of events when you get to Epcot. Take a few minutes and plan which you'd like to attend.

Last year we tasted some great wines as well as Scotch and some good beer at the UK. There was no additional cost for any of these tastings.

We're going on 10/2. I wish I could get my hands on a schedule before we leave, but Disney won't mail them. I'm also taking my pocket pc so I can keep track of the wines we really liked!

Edited to add: There was an additional charge for one of the Australian wine seminars. I think it was called a walk-about? There was another one that was free. Both seminars were good, but the free one was more fun.
