rolleyes1I can give you the name of a great therapist if need be...
Favorite place to eat ice cream.....Main St. Any ICE CREAM. Mickey Bar staring at the castle.I have to show that comment to DH And, I know what he'll say, "I only love WL CL, I don't love ALL CLs. All CLs are not created equal." It also helps that he loves WL, so if you don't love the resort, you're probably not going to like it much more just because you stay CL.
I'm really worried now that you think my AoA split won't stick because I REALLY thought it would stick. Of course, I really thought all the other split resorts would stick, didn't I? AKL/CL isn't available for our dates, but weren't you sort 'meh' about it? What made you change? I did have AKL/CL booked waaaaay back in November. I've also had CR, VWL, RPC, and YC booked. I'm not sure how AoA fits in there. I got DH excited about the new suite and two bathrooms and he loves the food court menu. But, now that some reviews are trickling in, I'm worried about noisy hallways, the really slow food service (no beepers) and hordes of people at the pool fighting over the cone cabanas! I'm thinking Poly might even be more desirable at this point
. Oh, no, what is happening to me
That's funny, it's the complete opposite at my house. DH loves it and it used to be that DD had to have CL, but now she actually said she'd rather not. She doesn't like that DH has to have his cobbler in the lounge every evening and she loves a hot breakfast on vacation. So I end up booking some breakfast ADRs and DD skipped dessert time almost every night our last visit. I'm sure this will change soon depending on her mood.
This leads me to a question for all of you:
Where is your favorite place at WDW to eat ice cream?
That makes a lot of sense! I remember the rate for Poly GV CL last year was the same as GF Sugarloaf wth 40% I believe $389 and regular Poly GV $289...I would love to see that rate again Late summer discount...BUT not looking good these days.Yeah AP discounts (especially for the Poly) haven't exactly blown my socks off this year.
Bottom line: for me to stay deluxe, the money saved from a room discount (for the lowest priced room category) has to be greater than the money saved from free dining. This includes the Poly.
No murder or robbing here..I will feel the need to take care of you...nurse thingAKL CL....is.....in a word......AMAZING!!! my families favourite resort, we love, love, love....did I say, LOVE??
that's ok, I'll go with all my DIS DIVA Aka Lovely Lady friends!!!
know what he said to that???? That I'm going to get myself robbed and murdered one day, LOLI told him to not be silly....I love my girls!!!
We've been friends for years!!! I know them better than some people I see every day!!!
......and I didn't care, I'd take my chances!
so gals.....you gotta be gentle when we meet! No murder now, ok!
DH 's mind is too warped by working in law enforcement for so long! He still thinks friends made on the internet don't have real lives....or are all mass murderers or something!! no worries though, I told him I'd be meeting my ladies once my boys are gone for yearly DIS trips and I wouldn't take NO for an answer!!We'll be meeting one day....sooner or later Y'all!

GoodYou all are such sweet ladies....Ok, I won't stay away...I promise!
I promise not to murder you! Or even rob you for that matter! My DH is always encouraging me to go on girls DL/WDW trips ... thinks it'll be good for me ... but I really just think he's happy cuzz that's one trip he doesn't have to go on! But who am I to disagree????![]()
Just found this thread and thought I'd say hello! Currently have a September trip planned at CBR in a pirate room(for DS - 5), but am itching to make changes to the trip. Originally, we'd booked a room at POR with free dining, but then changed to CBR pirate room due to the pool and kiddie water play area, the beach, etc. Would love to return to the Poly and be next to the TTC and monorail service (great with the DD under 2), but not worth the huge expense IMO. So instead of changing resorts, I've been changing ADRs and our itinerary every week!
Ack! September needs to get here fast!

You're the one who started all this with your disbelief that I would book AoA. It's all YOUR fault! (There, I feel better).![]()

Have you considered some ADR changes? BTW, there is no clean slate - it's all in the record - it's ALL therePas I'm sure you can appreciate this. I hadn't actually cancelled my GF res. I had a hold on it. I was going to let it auto cancel. I decided to modify it, and cancelled the one with like 50 changes. Crazy I know, but I get embarrassed when they start going through my History. Now I have a reservation with a clean slate.
I'ts 110 outside, and I am spending way too much time on the computer. This is the time of year when having 4 days off a week is not productive. Unless you consider changing your reservation everyday productive. I need a new hobby to get me through the summer. Any suggestions. Please don't say cleaning out cuboards and drawers.![]()
ITA, but it's a good spoiled and that's what vacations are forHey Ladies!!! I'm baaaaaaaack!!! (2 pages later....)
You guys have been chatty!!!
Anyways, in regards to the whole CL thing...my girls haven't even done it yet and I know I'm in trouble...they keep talking about the "snack room" and asking exactly how close it will be to our room and how many times per day we can go there...and "really??? we don't have to pay to get stuff???" (little do they know how much we are paying to stay there...)
I think they'll definitely be spoiled by this whole experience!
You're not rambling, you're offering great advice, which got me to thinking... so I did an AKL Vs. AoA spreadsheetFavorite place to eat ice cream.....Main St. Any ICE CREAM. Mickey Bar staring at the castle.
My friend, I didn't mean to worry you, or make you second guess. IMO any resort will be #2 to your beloved WL. I do think with DD getting older and more teenager likeyou need space on vacation. Whether it's a 1 Bed Villa or Family suite, or CL...extra space is a must. My DH hates the lounge snacks and now I am also second guessing CL...ugh. AKL is amazing, beautiful peaceful...I don't have to tell you....but the CL isn't over the top (Yes to Mr.Kook...all CL are NOT created equal) It is kinda between WL & AKL (today)...I don't want DH to feel like he is in Disney...so I narrowed it down to a place he mentioned that he just enjoyed walking around
..AKL.
Cabana....AHHHHHHHHHHHH. Yes why is it no cabanas at SAB or Luna Park. Or on Bay Lake at WL....what's a cone cabana??? I think AoA looks cool, but I am not completely sure it's your thing. It seems "busier" there, again JMHO. But why not try it? CR was on the brain today..then I saw heather's pic and was likebut then I read the problems i-heart-the-mouse had
Now I am rambling and not helping...sorryBut I do know you well enough that if it isn't sitting right, and their are enough mixed reviews...you will be on the phone with CRO.....
There's over 2 months to go....it'll all work out. And it will be magical. It is your Anniversary......

Nice to have you here! Have you considered a Garden Wing room at the CR? You could walk to the MK and have the monorail. There is also a fun splash area, but the pool isn't zero entry. Can you do a compromise split CSR/BC stay? Do you have APs to get an AP rate? I've noticed that ADRs are much easier to get than they used to be, even last minute. You don't have to have a reservation to check if ADRs would be available if you change to BC.I always used to see this thread, but never thought I'd be on it! I've had CSR booked for a while, with free dining. We love CSR, and this would be our third time there. I recently had a very brief stay at Beach Club with my sister, and now I can't imagine NOT being within walking distance of Epcot! Do I change?? I'll lose free dining, and will likely pay a bunch more (even with the late summer discount), but right now I can't imagine being happy if I don't switch! But...what'll that do to my ADRs, and my carefully-laid plans?!I guess this is the kind of thing you all are used to over on this thread, huh?

You're not rambling, you're offering great advice, which got me to thinking... so I did an AKL Vs. AoA spreadsheet. On my spreadsheet, I note some interesting facts:
CL at AKL is just $35 more than a non-CL SV room. A non-CL SV room is just $35 more than an AoA suite.
AKL has 1293 rooms and AoA has 1120 suites.
AoA rooms are 565 SF with two bathrooms and AKL is 344 SF.
No balconies, restaurants or health club at AoA
What did I miss? Oh, can I have that therapist's name now, Heather?

I have to say that I was shocked that everything came in correct!!! I was really worried that with all of my changes (with the final change taking place 5/9/12), something was bound to be messed up! But all good!![]()
You must be soooo excited!!![]()
Janet what are your dates? We are there until the 17th!
Janet,Glad you are enjoying the CD! I saw your new ticker, when are you going in the fall? Sounds like you are busy being a great MOM!
My DD, who is receiving her Phd from Stanford next week was a 7 month baby. Spent a month in the hospital, infant respirator and so on.
I can't believe you check into POP the same day we check into AoA Cars. Do we meet on the bridge? I'm coming over for a King Cupcake and I'd be happy to give you the nickel AoA tour.
Hey, speaking of 3-ways: WDWKOOK and Janet -- Sunday Aug 19 midday????
Faith wanted me to post her picture...she and Bill took off early this morning and went over to Hilton Head to fish the flats. She was so proud of her Red Fish. For a girl who loves princesses and dolls, she has no problem getting dirty! Guess that's what happens when you have 2 brothers!

Think a change is coming for August. Probably a Poly CL and AKL CL split. Hmmm I think that's what my ticker already says. I know for sure we will split. LOVE resort hopping!
magic, you aren't old! I can tell at least from your posts, you are young at heart! Next time you come up NJ way, I will grab Jeanette and Janet and we will have a RC meet, NJ style! Hope everyone is having a good weekend. We did some yard work earlier, and are both tired. A good excuse to do nothing and curl up with a good book after dinner while my DH watches the "subway series". (that's the Yankees vs the Mets for those of your not from the area)!
So we are definitely doing a week in late sept./early Oct. my kids have four days out of school plus the weekend (we'd thru mon) but I might take them out mon and tues as well. This will be our last chance to do this as dd will be in high school the following year and their days off won't match. I also don't think I will be able to pull her out.
Happy Sunday, you lot.Has everyone been productive little RCers this weekend?

[Kook, welcome to the world of teenage daughters. They are great, but sometimes I just couldn't believe some of what they would say. I got a great piece of advice that sure helped me. Never react to some of the things they say, just smile and don't engage. It frustrates the heck out of them, but they don't have any comeback. Wait until your daughter is a bit older, it's the best!!!Oh, and you know she is going to ask you why your aren't staying at a third resort at some point...she will have "forgotten" she thought is was an silly idea...
Busy week, leaving for CA early Thursday morning. So excited to see my daughter graduate.Because of my illness I haven't been out there 5 years, I haven't even seen her current apt!
How about Pop to get EMH...you'll have a car...it is really cool, then you & Dav can also tour AoA![]()
We need January discounts!!!![]()
