Candace I posted about this a few pages back. I definitely plan mostly lunches so we can maximize our lounge usage. A couple others agreed that it's the best way to do CL. I know pas said she does the same. I like to grab breakfast in the lounge before heading to rope drop. I usually plan a lunch ADR for us in the park for our park days. At night we like to hit the lounge for 5 to eat some yummy evening offerings and enjoy a beer or 2 (or 3!). Then we either head to the parks and have CS when we're hungry or hang around thr resort swimming and watch the EWP and fireworks from thr lounge while enjoying dessert! It's a great way to enjoy Disney, especially with a longer trip planned

This is a good strategy. I think I will change a few of our dinner ADRs...but some I just can't, like 1900 PF, we have to do dinner because DDs want to see the stepsisters...but I could probably change Via Napoli to lunch....O'hana will have to stay dinner...that's my birthday dinner. :goodvibes. Hmmmm.....

I've never done CL sooooo I'm probably no help but do you really need DDP? It almost sounds to me like a lot of the credits will go to waste. :confused3 If anyone has an ap would you be better off getting a Tables card? I love my Table card and use it a lot. We are not big drinkers but it is nice that it is good for drinks also. I also like that if all I want to eat is an app or two I can do that. I do think the idea of doing more TS lunches is a good one. See I told you I wasn't any help .... :rotfl2:

It's coming together very nicely now!!! So much so, that I have nothing to change, so now I'm just making my siggie prettier....:rotfl2:

It's still changing...

I like your Epcot idea, but I'm loving the fact that our date night will be in the same building as the girls, though we are probably going to swing over to MK for a ride on Space Mountain...

I am afraid of Space Mountain...and Mission Space...and RnR, and Tot, hmmmmm.... I am a wimp!!::yes::

We have 4 dinners. 3 at 'Ohana. :rolleyes1

We do have AP's, but the package is already paid for and I really don't want to change all of that stuff....plus, I think we will use all of our credits, but I want to use them smartly....

Oh we love them all, and this is the first time that DD5 is big enough to go on them so we can ride as a family instead of doing rider swap! :yay:

Can't wait to try Ohana! I'm trying to make it so I have 5 dinners, 5 lunches....but my eyes are getting tired of looking at all of these papers... :faint:

Makes perfect sense to me. I do like the idea of 5 lunches and 5 dinners. :thumbsup2

Makes it so much better when everyone can go. I just remember when my DD was too little but DS was big enough. So sad.

Almost everyone I know loves Ohana

This is going to be such a fun trip for you! :thumbsup2

Our favorite...

Ours too! Tonight I told my mom we have 3 there and asked if she still wants all 3 or if we should cancel one. She said "keep them all!" :rotfl:

The thing about splitting up the dinners is you never know if you're going to miss something awesome in the lounge! I have, on a few occasions, walked by the lounge on the way to a dinner ADR and thought to myself how I wished I could just eat the evening offerings instead. :rotfl2: You can always go for a later ADR so you can hit the lounge before heading to the parks.

The problem is that while we may enjoy the lounge apps, I do not think our DDs would, based on the menus I've seen, so we've really gotta keep the ADRs we have....this trip is a total expirement...1st deluxe stay, 1st CL stay!!! 1st time I've actually planned downtime into the trip (DH request)...guess we'll see how it goes so we can fine tune for April! :thumbsup2

Worse comes to worse...if we decide we'd rather eat in the lounge one day, we could just cancel our ADR (ones NOT held by cc)

I totally get it. Danimal is a super picky eater (but he likes liverwurst :confused3). I was happy they had uncrustables and mini corn dogs because he snacked on those and then would eat a meal at CS when we did later on. he hardly eats in WDW though. He gets way overstimulated. I lucky if he eats one meal collectively through the day. Thank god for dole whips! :rotfl:

LIVERWURST!!! :scared1: that's an interesting one! I've never had it...don't want to. Good for him!!! My girls like some stuff that some kids would think odd...like feta cheese, lamb, and spinach pie!!! (that's the Greek part of them) and they love veggies...they eat raw cucumbers, carrots and green peppers all the time..and fruit!!! They are beyond excited about the fruit selection at the lounge, so breakfast will be a success! :goodvibes

Good for them! I only dream of him eating veggies and fruit lol. The fruit is one of my favorite parts of the CL experience. At the Poly they have pineapple with caramel dip.

Mmmm, I like liverwurst too :goodvibes :thumbsup2
I'm already bummed because I think the POLY lounge has sushi/California rolls on Monday nights.....our Monday (oct1) I won't even be at the resort at all for appys or snacks....we are at Discovery Cove all day, then DTD....we probably won't get back until late at night.....UNLESS I have the cab drop us off at the POLY after DC to put away our swim suits etc......then hit the lounge for a quick appy.....then chance the bus to DTD and hope it's not a long, drawn out affair! We are headed to WPE that night for dinner :goodvibes

MM your missing out! :) liverwurst is actually pretty good.....and I HATE liver! You should try it sometime :)

Yikes! I dunno about that one. I'm a pretty adventurous eater (ie LOVE raw oysters,etc...) but hate liver. Would you believe I have never had a tuna fish sandwich??? It's true! But I've had tuna sushi... :confused3

I'm strange!

Love this plan, Dani! We did much the same when we went as a family, even though there was no CL back then. We enjoyed our resort so much, almost always the Poly, but once in a while CR...we tried BC when it was brand new and a few stays at the Dolphin b/c Mia had what was called a "TA Education" rate of $42.50 a ngt inc tx (to educate TA about the resorts by staying there!)..and we were on the 7th floor with an EPCOT view every stay. I would not stay at either the Swan or Dolphin now, but it was fun when they were brand new...no BWI yet. A tram took guests to International Gateway...or we could walk...there was a wooden boardwalk, but nothing else. No GF back then either... Oops, I digress.... I so miss those family trips. It is a special time, Dani, and I know you treasure each one.:goodvibes

I am afraid of Space Mountain...and Mission Space...and RnR, and Tot, hmmmmm.... I am a wimp!!::yes::

:yay: Me too! Pirates is a thrill ride for me! I even hold on when we go down the drop!:rotfl: Have done SM twice (came out shaking), TOT once - thought I might go into cardiac arrest because my heart was pounding so hard when we walked off...knees shaking so bad I could barely walk, and hands shaking so much that I could not get money of out my wallet to pay for the photo. I used to do Big Thunder, but prefer the one in DL...do not do the WDW one anymore. Happy to a member of the coat holders gang!;)

What fun!! :woohoo:

Aww, sweet Danimal. Many kids are the same...but I am too! Even though we make plenty of ADR's, it is always difficult for me to find something on the menu I like or can eat. Often order from the kids menu when not on the DP. One of the reasons I've hestated to try CL is because I'd not enjoy most of the offerings other than fruit, water and maybe some desserts.:confused3

Dani, when do you work again? You are in my thoughts so often...praying something changes very soon.

Have a Happy Saturday, RCers!

Marie BARF! :crazy2:

Candace I am a super un-adventurous eater. I refuse to eat sushi. I'm allergic to shellfish and won't touch other seafood (except tuna).

Christine That is so awesome! 42.50 is the tax these days!!!! If I can find things to eat in the lounge, anyone can. :) I LOVE the baked brie with raspberry in it. Yum! They also make a delicious beef wellington. Now I'm hungry! :rotfl:

Me too about seafood! Spent 3 days on a respirator after eating filet of sole! No fish for me, ever...won't even get close. I can eat shrimp, which is true of many people with a seafood allergy...but fear the shrimp would have been cooked with something else...not taking any chances.:thumbsup2

I was at an outdoor wedding once and they had so much seafood that my throat closed! I'm super allergic. It all stems from my medical issues as a child.

PS- I don't work again until Wednesday! This is my super happy 4 days off dance. :cool1:
