6 days until Birthday
7 days until Massage and Driving to Pittsburgh
8 days until Arriving at POR!

Yesterday I priced Sugarloaf instead of YC, but realized I wanted to be on the Epcot side for 2 days with Stormalong Bay. This morning I called to see if, by chance, the honeymoon suite was available at Poly. It wasn't, and that's a good thing--it would have been an extra $278, and I wouldn't have had the strength to say no to the Tonga building. I am officially done -- I'm not even making view changes. This is the tour of the Garden Views around the world! I haven't started packing yet--there's so much to do, that I keep putting it off. Maybe I'll make a list today.

Padawans: Have a great last day at work! I see that you snuck BWI in there... I don't remember that--but I would like to hear how you compare it to YC. I can't wait to compare notes about Poly and YC with you!!

Today is also Administrative Professionals day. So far I've got flowers, 2 plants, 4 cards, and a box of chocolate covered caramels. Lunch is Hibatchi!! It's nice to be recognized one day a year for a year's worth of abuse

Too funny about the Polynesian theme!! I'm tough on resorts (I have high expectations)... so I'll let you know what I think!! Happy early b-day to DD!!

I remember turning 30, and I felt really great about it, I mean, I was in a really great place in life, so it wasn't a big deal...now, I am turning 34 this year (during our Disney trip)...and although, we are still in a great place (even better...) it's not as great a consolation now that 35 is approaching...

Thank you everyone for your positive thoughts and prayers!! My mom is strong and a positive person herself. She caught her cancer this time and 2 years ago (breast cancer - not the same kind this time). Her surgery is scheduled for 10:30 am ... I really appreciate my RC family being with my in spirit - so thank you!

I'm keeping your mom, yourself & all of her doctors & caregivers in my prayers.

I had tried to find my original post on the RC thread (two threads ago ) because it represents a full circle back to basics...I know I had switched to WL at first and then POLY/BC/WL became a huge jumble....it became quite comical....

I can't imagine what that's like Deena and padawans will be back soon with a Poly report....whether that helps or not remains to be seen

Two weeks ago I found out a friend had a type of fast growing lung cancer which had spread to her liver, bones and brain. She passed early Sunday morning....she was one of those people who made everyone feel special and is missed so very much.

Not avoiding. I never let other peoples changes or opinions influence my descisions. I am perfectly capable of changing on my own Ive been following the changes. I'm interested to see where you all end up. I have a feeling none of you are done. 5 more hours of work today. 12 hours tomorrow and I'm off for 3 weeks. Then I can start the process all over again when I get back.I'm on break eating a plate of french fries. I was trying so hard to be good before vacation. I will give you my thoughts when I return.

He loves the beach...that darn River Monsters/Swamp people...etc. plus then he kept talking about all the stingrays he saw last year.....(there were dolphins and manatees...not scary) and then his friend told him they caught a shark off the pier in Myrtle yup he's done

I am truly in LOVE with the idea of the Wilderness Lodge, and believe it will be amazing!!!! Can't help but feeling like I'm missing out on something at the Poly, with all of its eager lovers! I'm sure it's amazing, but WL feels right. (and that's even with my evil friend trying to tempt me with texted pics)

Still no cell service at my DD's apartment. The booster thing isn't working??? Yesterday she had to take her laptop to work with her but she didn't need it today so here I am!!!

I am so enjoying my life at the beach. Yesterday evening we sat on the beach watching the dolphins playing in the water. Today it was coffee and watching the seal swim in the channel.

I have some of my ADRs made for my Oct trip but for some reason everytime I tried to book Whispering Canyon I got an error message .... what's up with that?

I have to admit that I'm a little jealous that so many of you are meeting up in Sept/Oct but I know how much fun you'll have!

Dear RC Friends,
I am going to Rochester as my Mom has surgery tomorrow ... meant to post yesterday, but time got away from me. She is having a masectomy but the good news is that is is stage one, so we are all staying very positive.

Say prayers for her .... she is a strong lady and will get thru this I know. I will be staying until Sunday, but I will MOST definitely find WiFI so I can get on the DIS so I can be connected with you all.

I miss being on the boards as much, and will check in when I can.

Janet, you and your mom are in our thoughts and prayers. My mom is also a cancer survivor - two surgeries, very strong chemo and then radiation. She's another strong lady and she came through wonderfully!

My options
1) 8nights at either CSR, POFQ, or POR (which I remember from 13 yrs ago as being very pretty). A perk for POFQ or POR is the boat to DTD... shopping Cheaper than options 2 and 3 but then extra money for things I have never done like the Luau and CRT....

2) Or a split stay: one of those moderates and then Beach Club for 3 days. DHS and Epcot being so close will be nice. And Stormalong Bay. But is moving all our stuff going to be a pain? I can't swing BC $$ for the whole time..

3) WL for the whole 8 nights.... Inside rooms (I like) Balcony nice but in August not used as much as it would be in like October or March---

Hello and welcome, momjkm! Tough choices! Of the resorts you mentioned, we've stayed at BC, WL, CSR and POFQ (kind of similar to POR, which I saw quite a bit during our "bus tours" of POR on the way to Epcot.)

OK, so of these, I'd vote for either the split stay between POFQ and BC or the whole time at WL. I think POFQ is my favorite moderate - really like the small size and the renovated rooms are nice. And we love BC/YC, especially in the warmer months when we really use SAB quite a bit. It's wonderful for dinners at Epcot - and we book tons of Epcot dinner ADRs.

On the other hand, the ability to stay at a deluxe for the entire trip would be very nice - especially in the summer. Even if we don't go out on the balcony, I like having it there - just makes the room seem bigger, brighter and more open. So I think I'd lean towards WL the whole time, unless Disney releases additional discounts and then I'd say BC the entire trip!

I'm an expert on imaginary trips! Any imaginary dates to throw out?? We'll be there August 18....

Yes! I'm imagining August 12-15 - need to be back by the 16th for some work commitments. Although I'm also imagining trying to adjust those to stay longer. It would just be our three boys and me, so I think my husband would say three nights is long enough!

Yay, Luv! It's so close - you have a great plan - DON'T change! (Or only change if you give up POR for more Poly time - I vote for that. I love packing lists - I still have my packing list from earlier this month on my dresser - just can't bring myself to throw it away! And THANK YOU for the Administrative Professionals' Day notice - I recently switched from a larger firm to a smaller boutique firm. My old firm used to have a department that got out the word about APD, but my new one does not. My husband will laugh when he learns that I learned about APD from DisBoards! Need to send something to my assistant ASAP!

If it helps any, I attended Mousefest 4 yrs in a row, always the 1st or 2nd weekend of December and never had even small flight delay out of Boston.

This was a difficult trip to figure out as the budget is tight and it is for 5 ngts. I was fortunate to rent points from a long time Dis'er I know who was already holding those dates...never would have been able to book early Dec otherwise - in January owners book up the first 2 weeks of December at almost every resort.

Just waiting for her to switch the names - thought she did that yesterday, but as of 12:30 today, not yet. That has me a bit anxious though. No dount she will take care of it soon.

Maybe those holiday decorations are calling your name?
