 Dani!!! With little ones and lots of family, I am sure it is great for you! I'd love to try it sometime, but view is so important to me that I'd probably have to give that up in order to afford CL. :sad1:

I have the beautiful view from the lounge at the Poly so I don't feel like I'm really sacrificing anything. I think I'd book CL even if it were just Danimal and I. We just really enjoy it. It isn't for everyone though. I mean...I use $75 blush. :rolleyes1 :rotfl:

Those were the days for me...before that ugly word "retirement". :rotfl:

I think it is fabulous that you enjoy it so much!! I am sure I would too! ;)

Christine glad to see you are back.

Pas I do believe I forgot to congratulate my favorite nurse on her award!

You're just the sweetest. Much love to you as well. So happy you were able to get on again. How did you resolve it?

Dani, you are the sweetest too!

Yesterday spent a couple of hours on the phone with Time Warner high level techs - they tried everything b/c Alex, one of the tech admins here, said he thought it was a roadrunner problem because so far the only people who could not get on had roadrunner or bright house, also owned by rr.

Techs could not figure it out, thought that once the new DIS server was up for a few days I'd be able to get on...but they also notified the RR server dept of the issue.

Then this morning, just before I had to leave with Sophia for preschool, I tried and ta da!!! :cool1:

Gotta get some sleep...you know mornings with a 3 1/2 yr old. ;) Nighty night!

Hi all. I am also a Roadrunner cable internet DISboards casualty. I haven't been able to log in for days and days... :crazy2:

Lots to catch up on. But I wanted to say congrats to pas130 for her Nursing Excellence Award. That rocks. :cool1:

I will also be there in WDW the weekend of Sept 28-30 with my DH and my parents for their 49th wedding anniversary Sept 29. So it would be nice to at least say hi to one, two or all of you if we find ourselves at some place at the same time. And to disdreaming247, WDWKOOK & stepdisney: I am Aug 15-19 at YC, so I am a little bit cool myself. :cool2: Last year we also had several RCer “Augusters”.

Busy day for me Wednesday so who knows when I will catch up since there will probably be 10 more pages here. :coffee:

I feel the same way about CL. No doubt I'd enjoy it, but does not feel worth the extra cost. Would rather spend that money on a better view...or pocket it for a sweet souvie..like a new Disney Skagen watch.:thumbsup2

I am sure I would love CL, if that were our style, but I'll just pack some bags of gummy bears and put them out for the kids in our room. :rotfl2: in all seriousness, we just don't need it, and would really only use it for breakfast and even then not everyday. Maybe someday for a DH and I trip or when the kiddos are older.

Oh mousemommy!!! I had to read the sad news over on the bc/yc thread!! We started out with identical vacation stays and now we are on opposite ends of the world!!:lmao: I can't believe you ditched BC CL. I LOVE THAT PLACE!! R u feverish...sit down and think this one over.. Teasing you!! But no rehab at WL...:confused3

Still in shock mousemommy - r u at WL whole time or still on a poly split stay with the it?

hahahahahaha!!! Slowly, pick jaw off floor....breathe......:lmao:
I was only BC, not CL...and I think BC is really, really nice, and we will definitely check it out on a future trip, but in my heart, I have always felt that WL is a better fit, and in all the times I have switched to WL, I have felt at peace. If I'm being honest, every time I was booked at Poly or BC I actually felt pressured to do so, if that makes sense. Before the boards I didn't give much thought to where I stayed....I LOVE the values, but given that it's our 10th anniversary we wanted to step it up a bit, thus we consider deluxe. Our original choice was WL, so now we are full circle. Oh, and yes, rehab at WL started the 15th. Brand new bedding, carpets, bathrooms, etc....WL is going DUVET. :goodvibes. That didn't hurt. New room or old (but I requested new :goodvibes) I think WL is going to be great for my family.

MM I was surprised you changed back to WL also. In my it ws the fact that you had such a good discount At the Poly. A part of me still wants to someday stay at CR or GF but without a good discount I just will not shell out all that $$$

Over the years we paid rack rate except for 2009 when we went with Ddil who gets her CM discount and our recent stay at BWI with the 30% offer.

DH loved WL not sure why he fell in love with BW so much, the walk to Epcot & DHS, the decor, the food choices ....??? :confused3

As for CL I do not see the value in it for us either, although given a Good enough discount I would book it since we tend to spend more time at the resort now that we are older, at least a 50/50 split between resort and the parks.

Christine I so know what you mean about retirement, we finally have the time to go and do what we want when we want but now money is the issue:headache:

LOL! My discount carries over to the WL as well...can't beat $207/night, come on!!! :rotfl2:
We will get to the Poly...now thinking for our Feb 2014 trip...which we were planning on doing the WL for, because it was going to be refurbed...but since refurb is now...we're doing WL now, and then if Poly does undergo refurb in 2013 like it's rumored, we will stay there in 2014. And, I think we are now seriously considering one of the deluxe rooms at an Epcot Resort for our April 2013 trip...most likely BWI CL (even with that clown pool...)...so we'll eventually get them all in. :goodvibes

you know I totally get that. I was that way with Poly....I was fixated on the poly board for reviews, etc. to the point where it was making me nuts. As if I knew it wasn't the resort for me yet I felt compelled to think it was! But in the end I felt soooo at peace with my switch as well. Have a wonderful trip!!!! Hope you get the refurb room - take lots of pics of course!!!!!!

Peer pressure!!! :rotfl2:

I just have this irrational emotional attachment to the Poly. I've said it before, but, as an adult, it really holds no appeal to me :confused3 But, when I was a kid, I wanted to stay there so bad!!!! But back then, there were few options, and I just wanted to stay at Disney vs. the HoJo's we would stay at in Kissimmee, when I was a kid. I wanted to do it, just to say I did it. That's kind of bratty, and again, irrational. I just can't bring myself to be gaga over it...to each his own. I am gaga over Beach Club though, as well as WL (but I am not an outdoorsy person, it just seems so "homey" to me...) We will definitely do Beach Club at some point!

I would be most interested in WL report on refurb room. We have stayed BWI CL, YC CL and now BC CL. We toured WL last summer and we are so spoiled by SAB that it is hard to fairly compare ANY resort pool. I appreciate the CS ooptions at WL and it did appear very homey!! But I had read rooms had seen better days, etc. so I blew it off. I would love to investigate it further. I am a huge fan of a split stay so could be 2013 front end of the trip!!! And honestly it seems so many poly fans have such fond nostalga for the Poly that as a newcomer to the Poly I obviously wouldn't hold such memories and would find myself over critically you know?

Yeah, I definitely feel like I had set myself up to hate it. :lmao: So, I could have been pleasantly surprised. But, I'm ok with waiting to find out. SAB is awesome for sure, but my girls are young and not independant swimmers. I like that the WL is small, and they won't care about the pool...it's a pool, so they will be happy. :goodvibes

Well, I priced out our first 5 nights at WL in a BB room, and then the next 5 nights at BC CL...it's a very small difference!!!! I kind of like that idea. MY DD7 said she would rather do a RR at POR the first 5 and then BC CL, which would then mean $$ coming back to us....hmmmmmm
:woohoo: Resort of the week is.......................................

RCers I am VERY disappointed in you! Last yea I was there at the same time you are all going this year. Can't you guys just go in August?!
Ugh..MY birthday is August ;)

I'll be there in August, too. All the cool kids are going in August
:confused3 August 19th...

First off, what's a BB room?? Oh nevermind, bunkbeds! Yes I am smart Oh, POR is calling isn't it....? I have heard that call too. I say keep the Poly though, what about a Poly, RR split??
She's not done jenny ;)

Of all the resorts I am considering, my DD's are LEAST interested in the Poly.... Maybe that's why it's hard for me to get excited about it.
I feel WL is a great value...and especially if I get a brand new room.
This makes sense Candace....I still don't think you're done though
Pas, thanks so much - you are so sweet!! And thanks for the lead on the WL info - followed to KOOK's thread. I was trying to figure out whether this means new linens on the beds - anyone know? Still bedspreads or any chance they will get the down comforters?

So I have an AP, and our three boys have APs and all the boys' summer activities are finished by August 7. Hmmm . . . .
I'm gonna end up pricing out August today aren't I :goodvibes

No more bedspreads - they're being replaced with duvet/comforters! I think our flagship resort, GF and Poly might be the only hold-out after September?

SEE, the cool kids with APs do go in August. Nice to see you back over here

OH NO Candace! Keep those changing thoughts at bay!!! Remember.....don't mess with perfection......don't give DH money for sports memobhilia........POLY! Yummy fruity concoctions in pineapples ;).....POLY! tiki lit paths, POLY.....volcano pool watching wishes in the background .......POLY girlfriend
She's not done Marie.....:rolleyes1

kook I really hope you're going to join us in the KKC for a beverage. I already asked ipo if I can have a guest from WL CL join us.
Yummy...room for 2 more....

Et tu MM ?
:lmao:

Oh Mammie I'm HOME!!!!!!!!!

I can't believe there's a [support!] thread for chronic resort-changers!! How COOL is that!?

Hello, my name is LegoMom and I'm a chronic resort changer. It's been 2 years since my last change.....

....but it's not over yet, my friends, oh no.
Welcome!!! Welcome!!Welcome!!! Beware, we are more into enabling rather than recovery....by far the NICEST PEEPS EVER HERE!!!!!!:grouphug:
I must say, I feel :sad1: but I know you.....can you say this is it FOR SURE???
Marie, you know my answer to that....it's like saying I am not gonna call about August...

Looks like a fun RC Meet is coming together! Going to be lots of fun - enjoy!!!

Pas...sorry I wasn't here sooner to congratulate you on the much deserved award!

....missed my RC family!
Missed YOU Christine!!!! And thank you, the reception is May 3rd!!!!
Still in shock mousemommy - r u at WL whole time or still on a poly split stay with the it?
She is not done I tell you (this is what the 4th time I said this) she will be at BC.....she will...somehow...:upsidedow

Pas I do believe I forgot to congratulate my favorite nurse on her award!
Thank you Sheila!!!

My adoption offer still stands. No application or interview required.
Since WE are related she's my mom too...and Sheila is adopted whether she wants to or not, (and GG, and JC)....YAY for Grammas (Nanas, Abuelas, pick thy nickname)

Oh I know you still get your discount at WL and agree about the room cost per night, heck even paying rack at WL is a good deal IMO.

I never went to WDW as a kid my first visit I was 36 and we stayed at Travellodge in Disney Village I booked only 3 months out and CR was booked for Easter Week
:sad1:

We paid $160 a night in 1989 and 1990 for TL during Easter Week

I am not sure but I think it was one of those years we visited CR and the Poly and here it is 23 years later and I have yet to stay at the monorail resort or my dream resort the GF and sadly doubt I ever will, if I knew then what I know know I would have stayed at some of those resorts years ago instead of planning and saving for the future.

I get the peer pressure and getting caught up in it here on the DIS, to stay here and not there.

A part of me regrets switching from CR to BW because now DH only wants to stay at BW:headache:

Btw, did you say you booked a BB room? We had one our second trip and love it. only bad thing was its location was quite a trek down a long hallway from the lobby and RF. The resort itself is one of my favorites.

Pas now I know why I feel so close to you ...... It's your Birthday :)

The fall RC trip is not looking good. :sad2: We just can not afford the BW and DH keeps bring up valid reasons to hold off until 2013. New car, for one :rolleyes1

I have until sometime next month to book FD so "hold that thought" :rotfl2:

MAGIC welcome back you were missed

Christine I so know what you mean about retirement, we finally have the time to go and do what we want when we want but now money is the issue:headache:

When I was in my 40's, my mother's friend would say to me, "Christine, getting old is not for wimps!" Her other words of wisdom, "Getting old sucks!". I remember being shocked at the term...I still do not use that term! ;):confused3

:woohoo: Resort of the week is....................................... I don't know this week! What is it??? WL???

Ugh..MY birthday is August ;) We need to celebrate!

Missed YOU Christine!!!! And thank you, the reception is May 3rd!!!!

Missed you too!! Hope we get pics of the reception!!:goodvibes

:yay: Oh, that's right!! NanaChrissy reporting for playtime.:thumbsup2

...did I mention August 19th is my birthday...:scared:

:cheer2: So does this mean a visit to the Mouse???:yay:

Welcome back, Magic!! Guess RR issues were resolved everywhere! :cool1:

Christine I often think about an elderly neighbor we had when I was 9-10 years old. He was talking to my mother and remarked "I don't know why they call them your Golden Years, there's nothing golden about them"

Boy he sure said a mouthful :rotfl:
