AS Music Suites: Holy filled up fast, Batman!

We're planning a trip in Dec of 2008....we'll be staying at AKV from the 6th - the 12th (well, provided we can book it day by day at the 11 month window, but that's the plan). Our plan is to get there on the 5th, and we were going to book an AS Music Family suite for the night of the 5th to save points, since we do a straight shot drive (leaving CT on the 4th) down, and all I want when we arrive is a bed to crash on and a hotel the kids can be happy hanging out at. The AS hotels are PERFECT for that first night......

Imagine our surprise when we called yesterday and the Suites were completely booked for that night! Over a year in advance!

We ended up booking 2 rooms at the AS music, and they promised they'd be connecting (yes, I know the risk....worse comes to worse my wife and I will sleep apart that night with the kids divided up between rooms). But the CRO rep was SHOCKED the suites were completely booked. He said to keep checking back online to see if any opened up.

My question is this: Does anyone know if they're REALLY booked or if the suite inventory at WDW just doesn't come "on line" until closer (maybe a year out) to your check in date? Or are they REALLY booked? The CRO rep wasn't sure one way or the other.....

Edit: And today (one day later) they're showing up on the web site as available.

I'm going to call and see if we can mod our ressie....musta been some sort of weird system glitch!

We ran into a similar situation when planning our trip for Dec 2008. We wanted to stay at WL but all the deluxe rooms were books early august! I called back a few times and and had other rooms that were also booked. We ended up at the Poly. Alot of people must be wanting to go at that time. We had no problem booking a AS suite for 1 night but that was in august.

You can keep trying, someone may just have a suite on a 14 day hold and when the time runs out its up for grabs. I actually had a suite booked in January but just cancelled it to take advantage of the ticket upgrade. I had to book 2 ajoining rooms instead but it saved me $422.

You never know, you could get lucky.

Well, apparently there was some sort of weird system glitch because.....

The suites showed up today, on line (I checked on a whim).

My wife called, modified our ressie, and we'll be in one of the Family Suites in early December 2008.

The CRO rep said there's PLENTY of inventory now. She wasn't sure what happened yesterday....weird, eh?
