Anyone have any input on ASmovies for family of 5 (ds 8, dd 5, ds 2). My son absolutely insists on the toy story section and we will put 2 in each bed and one in crib. Anyone stayed there before? Also, do the have refridgerators? Last trip was off site and a DUMP so we will spend a little more this time because if it's Disney, I know it will be clean!
THANKS:rolleyes:

We love ASMO! With kids the ages of yours, you should love it too.
We had 5 in our room, 3 adults, 4.5 yo, and a 20 month old. We never had any problem with space. We had a pack n play crib in there and a double/sit & stand carriage, plus all our luggage. Obviously there wasnt tons of space but there was plenty for what we needed.
And you are right, our room has always been very clean and mousekeeping was wonderful. All the CMs we encountered were very friendly and helpful. The theming there just cannot be beat. Its so Disney!
Unfortunately there is a fee for a fridge, I believe 10.00/night.
Any specific question, just keep asking.

psst...

You probably won't have any problems bringing in your own crib for the llttle 'un.

However for families where the youngest of five members isn't that young, having to ask for a rollaway cot or more towels is a big red flag that suggests too many people in the room.

I hope I'm doing this right. Actually I'm not really worried about a crib for the littlest 'un because his sleeps w/ mom and dad. A fridge would be nice to freeze water for the park each day but we can get along w/ out if we need to. And, while I've got someone out there we are trying to decide if we should go late Sept, or October. Only been in March and May and had great weather both times March was crowded w/ spring break so never doing that again!:bounce:
The crowds and weather would be our main decision makers since our kids are young late park hours don't matter so much. we can do mk until they close then do epcot til 9.

There is no problem with getting a crib for the little one. They will give you one free of charge. Having a 5th person under 3 is allowed. In fact when we did that and tried paying the extra adult fee for my mother, the CM said to wait a minute while she worked some Disney Magic and didnt even charge the extra adult fee. ;) 5 in a room is perfectly legal with one under 3, so dont worry.
I would go in Sept as opposed to Oct. We went once in Oct and I swore never again. It was chilly and mobbed. When we went in Sept we had great weather and no crowds(this was due to 9/11 being 2 weeks earlier, but from what I hear Sept isnt crowded anyway). Good luck!

We always go in Sept. From the day after Labor Day thru the end of the month, it is Value Season. This, of course means lower prices. With codes available to anyone, we were able to stay at ASSp last Sept. for $59 per night (standard room). Based on that, it should not cost much more than the "dump" that you mentioned.

The only drawback to Sept. (and Oct. for that matter) is that it is hurricane season. We always make our plans and go with it. So far, we have been lucky with the weather. We have been rained on at least a little every trip, but so far, no wash outs.

regarding your note about a refridgerator. When we were at the ASM last year we were put off by the rental price for a fridge (14 days at $10 = $140 !!). What we did was to buy a cool box from a local supermarket for about $12 and fill it up with ice from the ice machines located in each building.

The rooms are not large, but they are cute and clean.
It is a big complex however, so if your room is not located
near the pool or food court expect a hike.
My kids had no complaints about the food court, they always found something they liked . Sodas are pricey, so it would
well worth it to purchase the refillable mugs.
The pool is large and the kids really enjoyed themselves.
Avoid the onsite laundromat, the clothes took fovever to dry,
and it was too expensive.
