"Mom, they're gonna have to pry you off the ship!"

Yup, thats what Ive been thinking
Mom, I was only joking

anyone else just see the DCL show?

Yup, I just watched it with my DH. It was the first time that he saw this show and he thought that the ships looked awesome! He laughed at the lady waving from the front row to the characters in one of the shows.

That could be me!!!!

pry you off the ship. they will need to have a new place for me to move in for good. I'M NOT LEAVING:tongue:

Just wait! The show is only half as good as the real thing!
you will have the time of your life!
But watch out it is addicting:)

I think I better lose at least 10 lbs so I can gain 20 and they can roll or stretcher me off. That food looks yummy!!

38 days before we leave...........just a tiny bit excited!!

But watch out it is addicting

It's very addicting!!!!!

I held onto the hand rails all the way out, screaming, "Heck no, I won't go! Heck no, I won't go! Looked kind of silly for the captain to be chanting those words, LOL!!!!!

Not to mention, my soon to be 13 year old, was totally embarrassed!!!

I was just a mere 128 pounds when I entered the ship, look at me know!!! LOL!!!

now we are trying to figure out how to use our DVC points to cruise versus paying cash....

it looked wonderful!!

Anyone with three kids - how did you work it? Two rooms less expensive/less points that the big room?

Annette

We only have 2 kids, but I have known people with 3 kids who went with family members and put one of the kids in with Grandma and Grandpa.

The other alternative I have heard is to put Mom in one Cat. 10 and Dad in the other Cat. 10 room that adjoin to each other and then put 2 kids in one and one kid in the other. Then when one board just leave the connecting rooms open and you have a 2 room / 2 bath suite.

Again, I haven't done this since we only need room for 4 of us, but that is what I have heard of other people doing when there are 5 or more in the family.

I have a question regarding that show.....I didn't spend any time in the adult section of the ship but I thought that the hot tubs/whirlpool tubs were in the adults only section....why did I see whole families with kids in them on the show??

april: I haven't actually BEEN on a Disney ship yet, but after all this intensive research I almost feel like I have! :teeth: From what I've seen in pics and floor plans and read about, they have hot tubs by the adults pool and other hot tubs down near the family or kid's only pool.

The timing of this show was perfect, because we had a cookout at my parents house--we were all inside (RAIN) but we are all going on the cruise, so my family go to point all kinds of stuff out.
As for families of 5, we had a cat. 4, but this time we are in a cat. 6 and letting one kid stay with Grandma--we have connecting rooms, so we thought we'd rotate kids;)

April, they have warm tubs (not really hot but lots of jets ;) ) near the goofy pool (two of them) and then warmer tubs (still not as hot as ours at home) two by the adult pool.
The Mickey ears looked like little hot tubs but now they are wading pools I hear.

Shows you how much time I spent at the pools!! The Mickey Pool was gross and murky looking most of the time and the Goofy pool was was to crowded so we didn't even bother with any of them...we have a pool at home so its no big deal to go in one on vacation.

Well me and DH watched the show today also. He is a non-disney type and when it was over he looked at me soooo seriously and said I have one question.............Aren't all those happy people going to get on your nerves? lol..........so i told him that surely on a ship that is 3 football fields long he can find some grumpy people like him to hang out with...........geesh.....some people just can't be pleased. :p

Yes, there are enough like-minded people onboard that he'll be able to find them if he wants to. Let's hope that he's open to getting into the cruise mood, though, and actually chills.

Hey Annette,

When you book your trip ask the CM to help you pick the most affordable room. You can stay Cat 4 which holds 5 people, two adjoining lower Cat. rooms or what we did. We got Cat. 6 and Cat. 11 (across the hall). My kids are older so we were able to do this easily. The Disney CM helped us come up with this scheme.

Arrrrgh! I missed this show. Anyone know when it's showing again?

There is a Disney cruise line show on Sept 5 at 9 pm. Not sure if it is the same show. Hope this helps. It is on The Travel Channel.

Andy, Don't you know that that is our job as parents to totally embarrass our teens (or soon to be teens)?:) I practically have to drop my 14 year old off a block from school because he "is so embarrassed" to have mom close by. I see visions of the Dreyer's commercial everytime I pick him up. Expecting him to run out in costume to hide his appearance!:)

I did not get to see the show :( but I do have the Disney video that I watch when I need to "get away"...does that count?
