Good question. Similar for me. We're going to WDW in mid-February to celebrate my DS's 5th birthday but his birthday isn't until mid-March. I have done this 5th birthday at Disney trip for all of my other DS's but this is the first time we won't be there on the actual birthday (mostly due to the fact that the older DS's have more stringent school demands than in the past so February was pretty much the closest we could do). So, as mindystar asked, to button or not to button? How much birthday stuff should we do, if any? I'm not interested in getting anything free nor do I want to take something under false information but I do want him to feel as much that this is HIS special trip as his brothers did on theirs.mindystar said:This all sounds like so much fun! I have a question for all of you: I am going down with mom, baby sister (19), middle sister and her fiance in Feb. We are going down for a quick trip, one of the days being for my sister's FTW planning session. I am lucky enough that my birthday gift from everyone is to get to go down with them. Now my birthday is in March, but basically this trip is my birthday present. So my question is, on one of the days we go to the parks can I ask for a Birthday pin--since this is my birthday present, but not my actual birthday--or would this be in bad taste?

And great for you if your hubby is taking you and just you - no kids! Was it all his idea?? If so...GOOD FOR YOU! He's a keeper! My birthday and even mother's day for that matter, seem to come and go and my hubby barely notices, much less makes it a special day for me. Oh sure, I get a card, but I still end up going about business as usual, cooking dinner, bathing our son, etc...I don't get "special" holidays. What kills me is the lack of imagination on his part...I always manage to make birthdays, etc. special for him and always a surprise...whether it's a new truck, a trip or even stuff like a new snowblower, etc., but he never goes out of his way for me...wow - now I sound like I need some cheese to go with my whine! But anywhooo...I'm planning the trip so I decided that it's my turn! Happy birthday to me! I'm going to be a princess for a day!
I'm TOTALLY getting my birthday button! And then we're having dinner that night at the Yachtsman, followed by a fireworks cruise! So hey - live it up, enjoy your "grown up act like a child day". Happy birthday!!!!
