As an adult...would you get a Birthday button?

My DS will be turning 7 during our trip. where and how do I get him this button PLEASE!! It would just make the trip.

Get one, for sure ::yes::
I typically go every year, my birthday week (not in '06 going for Halloween & F & W Fest instead :cool1: ) and I always get the pin. It adds to the magic when CM or random guests, for that matter, come up to you and say happy Birthday!
This past b'day I got a pin at Epcot, had a great time, wore it when I went out that night to the Boardwalk , every one wished me a happy birthday, and I got a free shot at the Atlantic Dance hall!

I wore a Downtown Disney "it's my Birthday' button and a sweet CM sang Happy Birthday to me when I was shopping one of the stores :goodvibes

I am planning on getting one on my birthday in February. I'm in my 30's and It wont bother me to wear one. :earsboy:

oh yes, get the button!! I will be there for my 40th bday on Feb. 4. I'm not handling this bday well, so what better place to celebrate?? I'm excited now, instead of down. I am getting the button for sure!

Happy 4 - 0! :bday:
Its not that bad. :) What are they saying "40 is the new 30"?

My husband's birthday is also Feb. 4 and I am planning to get him a button ahead of time, so he will have it first thing in the morning. I also got him a MM sweatshirt that says "Today is my birthday". I can't wait. He will love it!!!!

You can get the button at City Hall in the MK. I plan on getting on when I go, and I'll be 33 years young, thank you! Even celebrating at CRT for breakfast! Wouldn't it be nice if we could all have birthdays at Disney all the time??????? ::yes::

Where'd you find the sweatshirt? We'll be at WDW for DH's birthday in June and I wanted to surprise him with a t-shirt. Did you get a custom one at Disney Online, or find one pre-printed somewhere?

More power to you-- I'm too... um. Shy.

I'll be there from 01/26 thru 02/03 and (coincidentally, wink wink) my birthday is the 31st! :teeth: Although I'll be turning...GULP...37...double gulp...I am totally getting a birthday button. And great for you if your hubby is taking you and just you - no kids! Was it all his idea?? If so...GOOD FOR YOU! He's a keeper! My birthday and even mother's day for that matter, seem to come and go and my hubby barely notices, much less makes it a special day for me. Oh sure, I get a card, but I still end up going about business as usual, cooking dinner, bathing our son, etc...I don't get "special" holidays. What kills me is the lack of imagination on his part...I always manage to make birthdays, etc. special for him and always a surprise...whether it's a new truck, a trip or even stuff like a new snowblower, etc., but he never goes out of his way for me...wow - now I sound like I need some cheese to go with my whine! But anywhooo...I'm planning the trip so I decided that it's my turn! Happy birthday to me! I'm going to be a princess for a day! :wizard: I'm TOTALLY getting my birthday button! And then we're having dinner that night at the Yachtsman, followed by a fireworks cruise! So hey - live it up, enjoy your "grown up act like a child day". Happy birthday!!!!

I haven't read this whole thread...but...

Took my DM to WDW last year....she had her hair done and PD'd at MK...and had a Birthday Button....and she was turning 64!

Had the call from Goofy....sang to by the Dapper Dan's...it was the bestest birthday ever...she says.

Go for it!

yes, I did this past Sept when we were there on my BD. It was alot of fun and CM's, other people wished my HB all day long. It was nice for Mom to get some attention.... :flower:

We just came back from the world and my daughters birthday (15) was on the 28th of December. She actually wanted a button from each park and since this trip was partially to celebrate her birthday we accomdated that. She really enjoyed the attention that she received. This included Beast in France bowing to her.

Our next trip we will be celebrating my 39th Birthday and I plan on getting a button and wearing it everywhere we go. You never know what magic may happen. :earsboy:

This all sounds like so much fun! I have a question for all of you: I am going down with mom, baby sister (19), middle sister and her fiance in Feb. We are going down for a quick trip, one of the days being for my sister's FTW planning session. I am lucky enough that my birthday gift from everyone is to get to go down with them. Now my birthday is in March, but basically this trip is my birthday present. So my question is, on one of the days we go to the parks can I ask for a Birthday pin--since this is my birthday present, but not my actual birthday--or would this be in bad taste?

Good question. Similar for me. We're going to WDW in mid-February to celebrate my DS's 5th birthday but his birthday isn't until mid-March. I have done this 5th birthday at Disney trip for all of my other DS's but this is the first time we won't be there on the actual birthday (mostly due to the fact that the older DS's have more stringent school demands than in the past so February was pretty much the closest we could do). So, as mindystar asked, to button or not to button? How much birthday stuff should we do, if any? I'm not interested in getting anything free nor do I want to take something under false information but I do want him to feel as much that this is HIS special trip as his brothers did on theirs.

Thanks. -- Rob
(and thanks to mindystar for posing the question)

DW and I always get birthday buttons when we are there close to our birthdays. We love walking around and getting the congradulations from CM's. Characters will also make a big fuss if they notice it.

No. Unfortunately even though my DH is a wonderful husband he doesn't think THAT much in advance. We always go away for a weekend every year to get away by ourselves and this year we weren't going to because #1 we didn't have passes this year and #2 we have sold our house and are building a new one. But since for the months that our new house is being built we will be living(with our 4 children) with a family friend we decided we should try and get away this year. So it was my idea and I picked the dates, but then thats what he expects me to do anyway. :teeth: But he very graciously is going to take me. :sunny: Though I am sure he is going to make fun of me for getting a button. :rotfl: He loves disney, but if I didn't plan it he would probably never go again. He just doesn't get why I am so obsessed. But that is just something you can't explain, you know? ::yes::

Just returned from a week in WDW and celebrated my little sister's 23rd birthday on the 6th at Epcot! Lots of CMs noticed and wished her Happy Birthday, the two guys running the boat across the Showcase lagoon put her on the phone with Goofy and had all the passengers sing her the birthday song, plus the CM at TestTrack gave her 4 fastpasses to TestTrack and 4 more fastpasses to Mission Space! Also the waitstaff at Alfredo's put a candle on her dessert and sang Happy Birthday in Italian! My sister was so tickled by all the attention and we received lots of magic too just because she wore that button on her birthday! :wizard: :wizard: :wizard:
