Arusha Savannah...Open or Closed

I've read differing reports as to whether the Arusha Savannah is open or closed and, if its closed?.....for how long.?
Is there any other Savannah's closed?

It was open last month and I didn't hear anything about closing it. It's the main savannah, I can't see why they would close it.

They are paving over the mud roads that the trucks use to enter the savannah, and it indeed has been closed. From what other posters have said, though, it sounds like they are almost done if they are not already. Hopefully someone at AKL currently can let us know.

It was closed on Wednesday (9/11) when we were there. Michelle is correct, they are putting in roads. I didn't ask how much longer it was going to take.

they said they were closing each savannah, one at a time, to put in paved roads. Each savannah SHOULD only take 5 or 6 days and guests who have booked a savannah view room will get a savannah view room - just maybe not the one they wanted.

My wife & I are staying at AKL on 10/14 - 10/18. Do you know if all the Savanah's will be open by then?

From what I have been told the paving project should definitely be done by October.
