Artist Thomas Kinkaide has passed away.

The news says he died of natural causes.

He was 54.

I'm not a fan of his work, but having just turned 53....54 seems terribly young.

I just saw this on Yahoo news. So shocking. He wasn't my favorite artist, but he did some nice Disney stuff.
And even at 41, this seems way to young. Makes me start thinking of starting earlier on that bucket list.

Shocking news. I had not heard this as of yet. He is one of my favorite artists. I'm sorry to see that he has passed.

My sister just called to tell me. I couldn't believe it. I have a small painting of his that my brother got me before he went so commercial and had stores in the malls. He was quite young, what a shame.

What a shock. I really liked his Disney painting. I thought it was fun to find all the Disney details he put in his paintings. I never bought any but a gallery gave me a few postcards for free.

Way too young. I wonder what happened. "Natural causes" could mean a lot of different things.

I liked his paintings, although I thought he got way too commercial.

I have a small print of his called "Spring Gate" of a sun-dappled country road & gate, with one of my favorite quotes below it:
