We were booked for Thanksgiving dinner at CRT but after reading the reviews we switched to Artist Point. We have never eaten there but the menu looks very good.

Would love some opinions on what everyone likes to order at Artist Point and if we made a good choice.

I love Artist Point, so I think you made a very good choice. The atmosphere is very rustic, tranquil, and peaceful - I think it'll be a great choice for Thanksgiving dinner.

Here's my most recent review of AP, which includes the current menu.

Some of the items that I would highly recommend:

-Smokey portobello soup
-Dungeness crab risotto (will probably change before Thanksgiving - last autumn/winter there was a butternut squash risotto on the menu)
-Heirloom tomato salad
-Artist Point "BLT"
-Cheese plate
-Cedar plank salmon
-Buffalo strip steak
-Prime angus beef tenderloin
-Berry cobbler
-No sugar added berry mousse

Basically the entire menu! :goodvibes

Thanks so much and I agree the entire menu looks great. I'm off to read your reviews :goodvibes

I loved your review and pictures of the food and restaurant. Both the buffalo dish and the berry cobbler looked especially good thanks again

No problem! the buffalo and berry cobbler are two of their signature dishes (along with the salmon and the mushroom soup). But I wouldn't hesitate to order any of their non-signature dishes. :thumbsup2

My fave dish there is the Portobello Soup. I have dreams about the stuff.

The salmon is great if you're into fish (I am not, but even I liked it), but I have to say the Buffalo fantastic.

For dessert I have to second the berry cobbler, it's SO good. They have a peach upside down cake that is described very well on the menu, but beware if you're looking for something REALLY peachy this is not it. The cake to peach ratio was not to my liking and I ended up wishing I had just gotten the cobbler I know I love.

We loved Artist Point. DH and I had the filet and DS had the salmon......both were awesome :thumbsup2. I think you made a great choice :goodvibes:.

Just booked it for our adults only trip in Oct..my dh is beyond thrilled. We haven't eaten there in years. We love it there...can't wait.
Great choice for Thanksgiving.

Can you tell me what kinda of flavor does the Portobello soup have?

As soon as I saw the picture of the berry cobbler in DonaldDoleWhip review I knew that was was going to be dessert.

Thanks so much

Thanks so much after looking at the menu it's one of a few restaurants where everything on the menu looks so good.

Now it looks like the difficult choice will be which entree to choose.

Great choice for Thanksgiving.

Please post when you return would like to hear about your experience :goodvibes

Have a great trip.

Be aware, however, that some restaurants offer a limited menu and/or a fixed-price multi-course dinner on Thanksgiving. IIRC, AP has not typically offered its full, regular menu on Thanksgiving in recent years and you may want to check around. Allears.net has this for the AP Thanksgiving menu last year:

Artist Point Thanksgiving Dinner (Wilderness Lodge) Regular menu not available. Appetizers - Fresh Field Greens with Saffron-poached Pears, Oregon Blue Cheese, Spicy Pecans, and Champagne Vinaigrette, Smokey Butternut Squash and Ginger Soup with crispy Pancetta, Pumpkinseed Oil, and Lemon Cream; Main Courses - Smoked Turkey Breast Basted with Sage Butter, Dried Cherry Dressing, Buttermilk-Chive Mashed Potatoes, served with Fig Gravy, Cedar Plank Salmon with braised Winter Vegetable, Chive Potato Gratin and Curry Miso Glaze , Grilled Filet of Beef with caramelized Brussels Sprouts, Sweet Potato Gnocchi, Red Wine essence, and Duck Fat Béarnaise Sauce, Seasonal Vegetable Entrée; Dessert - Artist Point Cobbler with Seasonal Berries and Homemade Black Raspberry Ice Cream, Holiday Apple Spice Cake, Pumpkin Cheesecake.

A full explanation of 2010 Thanksgiving dining options can be seen here.

When we ate at AP for Thanksgiving a few years ago, they also were serving a three-course fixed-price menu that included soup or salad (or maybe appetizer?), entree and dessert. It was still a great meal and there were choices that would suit most eaters, but it was NOT the full menu.

Thanks for posting either way I'm sure the meal with be delicious.

I had the same question as you did should I try it or not and based on the reviews I decided to try it our next trip. I think it will be great. Good luck, hope we both like it.

Could someone tell me what the potions are like here? I saw the pictures but I'm still curious to see what people think of the actual size.

DH, DD, DGS, and I had the pleasure of dining at Artist Point last year. The food was wonderful and the portions were generous. We all left stuffed. DD and DGS had the salmon, DH had the buffalo and I had the fillet. DH and DGS had the truffle fries with their meals and thought they were so tasty. I had the berry cobbler for dessert and loved it! The atmosphere of the restaurant was peaceful and unhurried. The wait staff was also great and very attentive. All of us felt it was one of the best meals we've had in all our trips to Disney. We look forward to dining there again in the future. I hope you have a wonderful experience at Artist Point as well!
