Artist Point vs. restaurants in Vancouver

Good morning!

My husband and I are going to WDW in December and are interested in eating at Artist Point. My concern is this: Artist Point is a "Northwest" themed restaurant, and we are from Vancouver. Is the food similar to what we would get in restaurants here, such that we should go somewhere else for a different dining experience? Any comments would be appreciated!

Thanks! :wave2:

We've eaten at Artist's Point and really enjoyed it. However, you are correct in that it is a Northwest menu -- wild salmon, tuna, scallops, and beef tenderloin were some of the key items on the menu. Though the food was good, you can definitely find these menu items at some popular Vancouver places (like Lumiere, Bluewater Cafe, Aqua Riva), and Whistler places (our fave is Rimrock Cafe).

There are many other options that are unique to WDW. At WDW, we prefer to go to Boma's at Animal Kingdom Lodge, Ohana's and Kona Cafe at the Polynesian resort. We also like Palio's at the WDW Swan Resort (where I had the best seabass). Even though it's expensive, we do go once during our trips to eat at Cinderella's Royal Table; it's an experience that is unique to WDW. The only place we go to that is like "home" is Le Cellier at the Canada pavillion at Epcot. Really yummy steaks, cheese soup, and pretzel sticks.

We prefer different experiences than what we get at home. If that's what you're aiming for, then IMHO, you should skip Artist's Point. There are too many places to try. Hope you enjoy WDW!

Thanks for the feedback. We have eaten at a number of the restaurants you mention, and are eager to try something new. We will likely skip Artist Point.

Thanks again!
