My DH and I are celebrating our 16th anniversary during our upcoming vacation (DD6 will be with us too). We're trying to decide on a nice restaurant for dinner the evening of our actual anniversary. :) We've narrowed it down to The Wave or Artist Point - we've never been to either. We are on the DDP and I am aware that Artist Point counts as 2 credits. My husband read the Unofficial Guide reviews and wants to try the buffalo so he suggested Artist Point. Is it worth the 2 credits?

Please share your experiences and which you would choose. Thank you!

I have never been to either but always wanted to try Artist Point. For a special ocassion, I would try there. I have never heard anything but raves about the food and atmosphere. The location of the Wave may be a little noisy and not as romantic.

Have a great Anniversary!!!

The buffalo at AP is delicious! I got the salmon which was also very good, but I liked DH buffalo better. I love, love their mushroom soup. The cobbler was also great. As you can tell, I am a big fan of Artist Point. My kids enjoyed it too. There is a kid dessert where you paint the cookies so that was fun. Our server was very good also.

I've never been to The Wave, but usually the signature restaurants are an overall better experience.

Have fun!

We love AP. To be fair I will say that we haven't been to the Wave. But we really enjoy the atmosphere, service and food at AP. Oh yes, the wine list is pretty good too. :)

Have been to both.

For a special occasion, I would go with Artist Point. Beautiful setting, lovely food, decent wine choices.

No complaints about The Wave per se; just not as "special" to me. No view, more hotel restaurant versus transportive destination feel.

I thought the service was better at AP as well.

Best wishes.

Haven't been to AP, but we had dinner at the Wave last month. Food was good, atmosphere was OK but not special, and service was not the best. Server kept our KTTW card during our meal and when I asked said she'd give it back to me at the end of the meal, messed up on our desserts, and gave us bottled Evian water when two in the party asked for ice water as their DDP drinks--to go she said--because she was trying to get a higher tip I'm sure. So service was odd and not professional or welcoming.

I'd do AP.

Artist Point-much more romantic, delicious food.
Actually, the Wave had great food but was not romantic at all while AP has excellent food and atmosphere

AP would be our choice. The buffalo is wonderful. Portobello soup - mmmm good! Truly not a choice that we made that was less than wonderful.

We didn't eat at The Wave, but visited. The appearance of the restaurant was attractive but nothing that made us think it was special. That doesn't mean the food couldn't be, but we didn't feel a need to rush there.

Thank you everyone for your replies. :worship:
It sounds like AP is the way to go. I was able to get an ADR for AP on our anniversary! Now I'm going to try to book a photo session at WL prior to our
AP ADR - ahhh the joys of planning!

For your anniversary I would head to Artist Point. It is definately worth the two credits. Chef Al is fantastic.

The Wave is also very good at dinner time, although there seems to be some managment/organizational difficulties both in the kitchen and with the wait staff. They need some work over there.
