Artist Point or California Grill?

I could use some help! My mom, husband and I will be returning to Disney for the third year in a row to take advantage of the free dining plan. We have decided on almost all of the restaurants where we want to eat but are struggling with our last decision, Artist Point or California Grill? We have not tried either one, and are really torn between the two. Thoughts?? Which would you choose and why? Thanks in advance!!

You can't go wrong with either. CG has beautiful views and wonderful wines
and food, and AP has just a stunning menu as well. If you are wine lovers,
maybe CG has a bit of an edge. You can dress up and enjoy either one and
know you've had a spectacular "grown up" dining experience. They are both
very $$$. CG a little more so perhaps(not sure). There is a possibility, if you
time it right, that you might be able to see "Wishes" at MK from your table
at CG. But certainly from outside. Enjoy!

I agree with Cee their both great but I have to give the nod to the CG, wider selection of food including sushi and the view is out of this world. You won't go wrong with either one.

I am more of an AP fan. The food is great and I think it has a better wine list than CG. AP does not have the beautiful view that CG has, but it is sually quieter and less hectic than CG.

We prefer AP. Nice relaxed atmosphere. Wonderful, varied menu. Great service.

They are both great. We eat at both every trip. It is MUCH quieter at AP than at CG. The food is great at both. Atmosphere is a little more relaxed at AP because at CG there are people coming and going trying to take pictures out on the lookout. Either one is a win. Good luck !!

We enjoy both. It really depends on what you are looking for. AP is quiet (usually unless rude parents allow thier child to scream and squeel your whole meal - this happened to us once) but has a more limited menu than Cali Grill. If you like the menu at AP I'd probably recommend that. Cali Grill has beautiful views - even if your not seated where you can see the MK and it has a bigger menu, but it also has more people and more ruckus.

While we still haven't made up our minds, I'm certainly less stressed out about it, because it sounds like there is not a wrong choice to be made between the two. Does anyone know whether the fixed price option at AP is available on the DDP? Also, what are your favorite entrees at both places? Thanks again!

Okay, we leave in less than three weeks, and I still haven't made up my mind!!! You would think that three months of pondering would have been enough. ARGH! Any last recommendations?? Thanks so much!

If you don't already have an ADR the choice is probably out of your hands...The odds of getting an ADR at the CA Grill 3 weeks out are very slim

I would pick Ca grill...The flatbread appetizers are great as is the sushi.. I like the CA grill desserts better, such as the Bananas and Butterscotch buzz... I do think the entrees are about equal at both places,but Ca Grill has the edge on apps and dessert

Personally I would go with Artist Point unless you want to see the fireworks. CA Grill is very good, but I find it to be somewhat overreacted...I actually like Jiko and Citricos much better, and in comparing Artist Point I would have to do AP if only for the heavenly mushroom soup! You won't go wrong with either, but Artist Point is lovely and rustic and we've never had a bad meal there. Still, at CA Grill it's fun to go outside and see the fireworks, and the service there has alway been superb (food good too of course).
