Artist Point or Brown Derby?

Hi! We are making our first trip to Disneyworld, and did not realize we needed to make ADRs 180 days in advance. As a result we did not get into most of the restaurants that usually get recommended (although we did get into Boma!)

Anyway, among those that were available were Brown Derby and Artist Point at Wilderness Lodge. It sounds like they have similar types of food. We only want to choose one of these. The Brown Derby slot is for lunch, the Artist Point is for Dinner. We don't personally care if our big meal is lunch or dinner, but I just thought I'd mention it in case it matters for the quality of food.

Any opinion on which one we should choose?

Both have good food. I'd base the decision more on where you intend to be the day of the reservation, especially if both menus appeal to you. If you're at DHS, Brown Derby would be more convenient; if you're near the MK, then Artist Point would be nearby.:thumbsup2

I'd choose Artist Point for dinner.

I have been to both more than once, and I really like Artist Point for food and for service. Not so much on Brown Derby.

Artist Point is good, but IMO, not worth the travel time from DHS to get there.

I completely agree with PictureJumpr. In addition to having better food and service visiting Wilderness Lodge is a very pleasant adventure. If you're at the MK it's a short boat ride away.

I'm not a huge fan of the Brown Derby. I haven't eaten at Artist Point, but I have a reservation there next week that I'm very much looking forward to.

OK, sounds like I'm cancelling Brown Derby. As long as I'm on the phone, are there any suggestions for another restaurant we might like? We need something we can book for December 11-15. Any location is fine, since we intend to visit all the resorts, anyway, to see the christmas decorations.

We want a place that serves steak and maybe seafood. Le Cellier, obviously, is booked by now but maybe there are some other good places?

We have eaten there and the food is very good. I would not cancel, but that is our opinion only. We found it to be very relaxing there.

For steak and seafood options on the same menu, try Captain's Grille at the Yacht Club. It sits on the lake inbetween Epcot and Studios, so it's easy to get to for dinner from either of these parks.

That sounds like what we want! We can only afford two expesnive meals, and the rest of the time we're going to have to find less expensive places. So I guess we'll go with Boma, Artist Point, various snack stands, and Captain's Grill.
