My husband and I are looking for one nice dinner on our next trip. We can't decided between AP of CG. Wishes viewing really isn't a factor. What do you guys recommend?

I've been to both, and the food is good at both. I like the over all experience at CG better, but AP is much quieter, whereas CG can be crowded and loud.

Note also that if you want to wander around the resort a bit after or before you eat, WL, no question.

the view and food at california grill are by far better than artist's point. i was really dissapointed with artist's point because it didn't seem to be very "special".

however, at cg we were able to watch the sun set behind cinderella's castle and eat a wonderful meal. it was very romantic. :lovestruc

I was bitterly disappointed with Artist's Point. It was like a noisy cafe and the experience just wasn't 'Signature' to us. Food was good, service wasn't.

California Grill, though it can be noisy was definately more upscale all round and I can't wait to go back.

My most recent experience at Artist Point was in October, and I've never had a problem with the food or service. I think Artist Point was not as noisy as California Grill, and the food was fantastic. Maybe you had a bad server.

I've heard horror stories of service at California Grill. The most recent I've seen (in a dining review) was a server who didn't bring a steak knife with the filet, and told the diner who requested one: "It's so tender, you don't need the knife."

That being said, I've had wonderful meals at both places. But I find Artist Point more relaxing.

I have been disappointed both times at Artist Pointe with both food and the atmosphere (totally lacking anything special). I don't hate it but it's my next to least favorite signature. Although Ca Grill can be noisy, the sushi is fantastic, the setting is gorgeous even if you don't have a window seat. It is noisy and crowded but the noise has never bothered us.

I have been to California Grill and like it - it's definitely a good restaurant - but don't like it as much as Artist Pointe.

The mushroom soup and salmon at AP are AMAZING as well as some of their desserts.

CG has sushi if you like that and good flat bread pizzas but having gone to Palo on the cruise ships before ever having been to CP, I was disappointed to find that the architecture of the 2 restaurants are SO similar. I found out that's because it had the same architect. :-)

I just like the menu and overall feel of AP point, in addition to loving the atmosphere of the Wilderness Lodge. I would go with AP. Never had a bad meal there and always love my experiences at WL.

That sounds fabulous.

 Hopefully that was just a bad server that night.

Thanks for all the input. We are still thinking it over, but this helps a lot.

Been to both, found CG louder than AP, though they both are large, open rooms and can get pretty noisy. I think the atmosphere/decor is nicer at CG, but I like the WL setting for walking around. CG: like the flat breads, heard good things about the sushi, nice CA wine list; AP: mushroom soup, salmon are good, liked the old mac n cheese with the pork chop, wines from Oregon/Washington. I'd look at the menus, see what works best for you, but do not think you can go wrong. FWIW.
