Disney have licensed characters to indie restaurants, though. The Swolphin has a character meal.

Overall there really are not that many character meals. I don't think you have to worry.

Also to piggy back his answer, you choose where you want to eat. Yiu determine if you want characers at your meal.

Wouldn't shock me if true. Disney can charge a crazy price for character meals and offer lower quality food, and probably will get more interest in a character meal at the Wilderness Lodge than just Artist Point, so probably a win financially for the Mouse.

I can only imagine the price for this one but sign me up! I would love to have dinner with the crew. That would be absolute awesome. I do agree that it will be an extremely hard reservation to come by.

Well, if we're going to start "character in the woods" rumors... I'm going to start a "Forest of Endor!" rumor. Your meal at Wilderness Lodge will feature Ewoks singing YUB YUB and posing for pictures!

On your way out, you can pose for pix with C3-PO in his throne as the god of the Ewoks.

The cost will be $60 for children, $80 for adults. You will receive 3 reheated toaster waffles, some applesauce, and a Mickey straw.

I won't lie, I'd totally pay for that.

That would be a great line-up for a new character dining option. Other than Tusker House we don't do characters anymore but I would book a Snow and 7 dwarfs meal without any hesitation!

Over on the rumors board I saw it might be breakfast and not dinner, but I've seen the same of Snow, Evil Queen, Dopey, and possibly one more. I'd do either breakfast or dinner with a Snow White line up. Prefer breakfast. My mom loves Snow White, so at least some of our party next June would go.

I would be thrilled to see a villians meal! That could be so completely cool. Not sure where you'd put it...maybe DHS? Although I'm of the opinion the Sunset Boulevard area should be villians themed. Of course, I'm also still holding out hope for a Haunted Mansion restaurant.

Seven Dwarves only meet at parties, people complain.

They get their own character meal, people complain.

Some people just want to be unhappy.

I am not sure that people are complaining about the dwarves. I do think some people are sad a favorite restaurant will never be the same, and that is understandable and should be respected.

What about those of us who don’t have little kids with us? Where are we supposed to eat IN PEACE without characters coming over to our table every five minutes? Are ALL of the sit down restaurants eventually going to be character dinners?

Oh dear, you cannot find one restaurant that does not feature characters?

Disney is trying to resurrect a restaurant that is floundering. If it takes characters to keep it running so be it.

The character meal lineup has been pretty static for a very long time. I don't think you need to worry about mission creep.

Akershus, Cindy’s, 1900 for dinner, and bon voyage. You could try to argue that the bon voyage is prince and princess themed but its a stretch. They are based on princess movies.

I don't really consider 1900 and Bon Voyage to be exclusive princess meals.

Regardless, they aren't ALL geared toward princesses and little girls. My daughter does not care for face characters and we do plenty of character meals.

Don't like WDW having 2 princess character meals? Head for DLR where they no longer have any.

Want a character meal at WDW without princesses? How about Garden Grill, 'Ohana, Chef Mickey, Minnie's Seasonal Dine, Crystal Palace, Cape May, 1900 Park Fare breakfast
