Artist at Grand Floridian ??

When my family and I were there in January, there was a lady in the lobby of GF that was painting portraits from pictures that people had brought her.

We are going back in September and I would love to take a picture of my 2 sons for her to do.
Does anyone know any info on this woman, is she there all the time ?? How expensive is this ?? And is there anywhere else at Disney that has artists that will paint your picture while you are there ???

There was a artist at the BC during our stay in July doing the same thing. I don't know if it is the same person, though. She was charging from $85.00 to $125.00 for a portrait. She was very talented. The paintings that I saw looked very close to the pictures.

When we were at the BC a couple of years ago I saw someone doing this and they looked great. I was really hoping to get one done this trip. We are staying at the WL, anyone know if someone there does it?

I believe it varies by the artist but usually a full portrait will cost you about $125.00 (that's head, shoulders and down to the waist, in colors). If there is more than one person in the picture it's higher but not quite double in cost, if i remember right.

We stayed a week at the GF last year and I kept looking over the different artist's work and I finally saw one I really liked, so we had my daughter's picture drawn. She used watercolors, she sealed it and packaged it up for safe transport home. it hangs over our piano now and is a true showpiece. In fact we cried when it was being drawn because it was like catching and freezing the moment in time we had had such a great day that day at WDW and the memory is preserved. She even captured the exact way the light was shining off my daughter's dark hair.

Some of the artists will only work from photos if the subjects are babies. I have wondered if I could take back one of the baby pics of my daughter and have that drawn, wanted to ask about it on our next trip.

Svetlana was the name of the artist at the GF who drew my daughter and by halfway through the portrait there was a sizable crowd standing around watching her work. I was so proud my then 7 year old sat for 20 minutes while her face and hair were done; incredible. Then she got to wiggle a little as her gown bodice was drawn LOL.

it truly is an amazing thing to do, i hope you can get that picture of your boys drawn!

renniks, there has been an artist by the Merchantile, at the WL, the times we have stayed there. Our Russian exchange student had her sketch draw at the WL a couple of years ago.
